    where to buy a thermostat?
    alright please be nice :)

ive found a snake in an abandoned appartment...i have never owned a snake b4 so from reading alot of wonderful posts here ive learned that he needs a thermostat to regulate the temps in the enclosure, can i get one at any hardward store and do they all come with a probe or so i have to buy this seperatly?

oh im in canada..dont know if this matters or not...

Local pet stores.......what kind of snake is this? I mean if you found it do you know what it is? There are different temp requirements for different animals as well as etc other things like enclosure size, eatting schedule, substrate.

The chances of finding a herp thermostat in stores is pretty rare. A pet-store MIGHT have them, but I have yet to see one. Your best bet is to order one online. In the meantime, go to the home depot and get a piggy back lamp dimmer so you can at least regulate the heat source.

its a normal ball, that im sure of, he or she hadnt eaten in a long long time (at least 6 months that i know of) so i started feeing 2 adult mice once a week and since then i have been feeding a small rat.

ive read everything i possibly could about the husbandry of these beautiful animals so i think im doing a fairly good job. but im still learning so any help is always welcome

It depends. The reptitemp 500R has two outlets on it, but can technically handle a higher wattage (is this the right electrical term? I am a dummy). A johnsons control or ranco can control about 6 (or as many plugs there are on the power strip).
