His coloring is quite interesting. It's like a dark mustard. He's a month old. Im not sure if hes just a light normal or hes on the verge of a pastel. And the fading on his stomach is quite interesting. Sorry about the lighting in some of the pictures.

i think hes beautiful regardless if hes a normal. i went to a rep. show and at this one table i saw him in a little clear to-go container and the guy that was at this table selling all kinds of snakes didnt really care about anything besides making money. he kept complaining how he wanted a cigarette and he looked bored. i picked up clyde and bonded with him instantly. he was weak and dehydrated and for the first couple nights he didnt know what darkness was and was frightened and could barely hold himself up when he was pushing his food down. hes a lot better now. mind you that i only got him on saturday. he still has got a ways to go before hes completely healthy. back to the rep. show. i couldnt leave him i picked him up and he instantly curled around my hand and DID NOT want to be put back down. sooo i bought him and now hes safe and sound :)

thank you very much :) hes acting a little weird though. he isnt very active in his tank. all he does is curl up and doesnt really crawl around much. once i pick him up though and stretch him out hes happy and curls around my hand and crawls around but as soon as i put him back in his tank he seems depressed and just curls up again and wont really move. anyone know what could be the problem?

No problem at all! He's acting exactly how a happy, contented ball python should. I'd be more concerned if he WASN'T behaving this way!

its not that big of a deal you just want to remember people take a lot of pride in there animals and a lot of money and hard work go into producing them so its always good and fair to get permission or state whos it is, no hard feelings:gj:

i use Eco Earth. i love it. it stays moist for awhile doesnt really stick to anything besides your hands. drys out nicely. all you really need to do is spray it down every once in awhile where you want it wet and where its been really dry clear out some of the debree. youll run your fingers across it and the stuff that balls up is stuff you can throw away. its also very easy to spot clean. my snakes seem to like it alot. :)

Keep in mind that those gauges are terribly overpriced for something that's usually very inaccurate.

Someone here tested one of the thermometers by putting it in the freezer a few years ago, and it still read 84 degrees.

Also, they are mounted too high in the enclosure, they should be measuring the ground temps, where the snake actually spends all of its time.

For $12, you can pick this up at Walmart (where the indoor/outdoor thermometers are sold) and it will measure your warm and cool side as well as humidity, far more accurately than those dials (which are considered junk by more experienced keepers who have been burned by them in the past).

Get some velcro and mount the unit at ground level on the cool side, then run the probe and set it inside the warm side hide on top of the substrate. :gj:
