    need a little egg help
ok, so ill give you a little background. I have a male and female pair of Het albinos they were bred a few while back and the female got big then went into her pre lay shed. we counted the days and nothing...right around day 32 she went blue! well after that preprelay shed she laid 4 Huge eggs. they are white and really firm. but look like they might be fertile? thats what is weird? im not really new to breeding just new to this situation. Ive had them in the incubator for a bit now. besides a bubbly looking weird surface that has been on them since laid they look fine? if I get enough responses I may venture to take pictures? PLEASE HELP PYTHON BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

Well, to check if they are fertile, you need to candle them for veins.

(Take a flashlight to the egg, and look for blood vessels against the light)

And other than that, just keep in mind although there is a general time line for breeding and egg laying, nothing is set in stone.

Good luck with your eggs! :gj:

I know what you mean. ive been doing this for about 5 years? started with leos and dragons worked my way up. The light wont really go through the eggs enough for me to see anything, not alone veins, ive looked.

Weird...they look more like slugs than fertile eggs to me from the pic. I would try a stronger light until you get some good candling.

Use a mini mag lite flash light, turn off house lights, they should candle just fine, what is your bator set up like?

Those eggs look like they just don't have enough calcium. They should be fine.

    Candle them again.

well actually when I went to take that picture the humidity did them wonders. Im going to try and re-candle them this evening. i'm kinda puzzled by these things. the incubator is running 89.

still no luck seeing through. I think they may have 2 much calcium. I think she held these 4 eggs for too long maybe? they were not even close to stuck together and is it possible that she actually had 2 pre lay sheds..the first one she didnt want to lay and held them? after the second shed it was pretty much 30 days.

Candle them where there are no lumps. It may be hard to do it, but if you see veins, you should be golden.

I've had eggs like this, and they developed fine.

    BUT!!! They had veins.
