is it ok to put two ball pythons together
i have a baby bp about 2-3 months old about 18-20 inchs. and i am buying another tomarrow not sure how old but is like 2 1/2 feet. the one i have is a male and the one i am buying tomarrow is a female so i was wondering if they might try to hurt eachother or if for some reason they might try to mate and the male being much younger could it hurt him.

never. there are pleanty of threads on here about not doing it. dont. they will stress out, possibly not eat, possibly die from this.

You'll need to quarantine the new snake from the one you already have anyways so no you couldn't put them together right away even if that was a good idea. Each snake to their own home is usually best. :)

Re: is it ok to put two ball pythons together
Please don't house your ball pythons together.

The larger one will dominate the smaller one... It will LOOK like "cuddling" but it's dominance. It will stress out the smaller one and it will not eat.

Yes there is an issue of them trying to breed at too young an age which will be more of a problem for the female. She could easily become egg bound and die.

It's wonderful that you came here to ask first, instead of just sticking them together and waiting till a problem arose.

I would recommend 1 to an enclosure unless you're breeding.

Sorry you're original post wasn't very clear on that. They should have no contact until after quarantining the new snake.
