Hello from Va
Hello everyone I'm Duane from Va a newb to the hobby. I have 2 BP normals 1 male 8 months and 1 female not sure of the age but some what bigger than my male. I've had the male for 2 weeks this past sat. and the female for 1 week this past sat. everything seems to be going well so far (cept keeping the humidity above 30%) housed in 10 gal. viv's both have a cool side and a warm side with lamps and UTH's both have hides and water bowls.
They have both taken food since being with me (but the female hasnt passed anything yet) the male seems to preffer F/T and the female preffers live. This is the 1st snakes i have ever had and i have become hooked.
Well just wanted to pop in an introduce myself to everyone and say hello.
I will post a pic of my snakes in the photo gallery

Hi Duane, welcome to BPNet! :) If you need any help sorting out this place please don't hesitate to ask an Admin (names in red) or a Mod (names in green) for assistance.
Glass tanks with their mesh lids tend to be more difficult to keep proper humidity in, especially during the dryer winter months. You might want to try covering most of the mesh lid with something like Press n Seal and just leaving a bit of each corner open for air exchange. Also you could add in a second water dish, on the warm side if you have room, that is low and wide allowing for more evaporation in the enclosure. Some people use dampened spagnum moss here and there in the enclosure to promote more humidity.

Thanks for the welcome, and ty joanna for that advice i have coverd 3/4 of the screen and added a dish with a wet cloth in it which raised the humidity from 30% to 50%.

Re: Hello from Va
Hi and Welcome!
I used to live in Falls Church, I now live in Colorado. How did you come up with your names for your balls?
Oh, and just so you know, the numbers before the species name/morph refers to gender.
So, you have 1.1 ball pythons
1.0 means one male snake
0.1 means one female snake
3.5 means 3 males and 5 females.
Hope this helps :)
