finding yourself smarter than you know
ok I not sure on how to do polls. but I finding out I know more about snakes and other things than I actually though I knew. ( now if i can just my spelling and gramer skills higher than a 5th grader lol) . recently I have been proven smarter than hte petshop people . aAS result I been offer jjobs at said store. I also been proven wmarter than the guy ownnig the store lol.. WHich i think irked the guy. I also realized that I know in some cases more than some breeders have done.. ( that or I am just really lucky lol) I asl found that the rodent care for rats and mice works almost perfect when I deal wit hthe asfs.
so has anyone else realized they knew more than they thought, or dumber than they knew lol.. ar just about were your knowledge was thought to be???
THe scariest part is my niece is caughting up to me in her interest and knowledge of snakes.. I find this surpriseing cause I am the only soruce of reptile info she get access too lol..

The scariest part is that my niece is catching up to me in her interest and knowledge of snakes. I find this surprising because I am the only source of reptile information she gets access to.
It's not complete, but MAN, I'm sure 5th graders can write better than you.

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
The older I get, the more I realize how little I actually do know.
-
Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
When you realize how much more you have to learn.. then you should consider yourself smart.
When you learn to interact with others, without trying to sound superior, and learn how to impart knowledge to others in a way that they are willing to use, then you'll be smart.

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
sadly I not found spellcheck on my ie explore , then again it would do any good since i would not know how far off my spellnig is if the spell check totally lost . LOL I know i need ot work on my my grammer (spellign skills more) the drag bac kwas I never really passed the spellnig part in school. I think When I was goign it was just push them though and let the next teacher worry about him era.. Hell be glad these post are typed and not handwritten , because I can't even read my own handwritting. I think part of the issue with my grammer is I no good with using big words and will sub a smaller word with a similar meaning into my post. I wonder if i sound as bad in person as my typing is ??? If so oh the horror I released on the wrold .

If your spelling is so bad, why don't you read over your post, at least once? I'm a kid, yet I write correctly.

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
Before you all get too nasty and give him a hard time for his typing... seriously.
MN has CP, and this is reflected in his typing, I know him from another forum, and he is a stand up guy.
Hope you do not mind me saying that Mechnut, but I know you would not hesitate to tell that information youself, so I hope it is OK. :)
---------------
Are you taking the job MN? I think you would do great at it. Might be a good break from the lawn cutting.
Just seeing how far you've come in the last year even is amazing, both in your knowledge and your experience, and those BPs you hatched out last season were nice and healthy and amazing. :gj:

You always hit your punctuation Mechnut, so it is just the spelling and spacing... but it is never unreadable.
Never had a problem understanding you. :)

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
I sincerely apologize. I didn't know, and there are some people who do not have problems (as far as I know) that DO type like that.
I'll edit all my posts, and again, I apologize.

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
I know to check the depth of the water before I go throwing myself in.
Usually.
Well....sometimes.
Ok ok, every now and then.
But hey, I'm a heck of a swimmer.
Slim, can we call you halfpene now?

Yes you can....limited time offer. I usually check the depth of the water before diving in as well, but I certainly blew it on this occasion.
I should know better.

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
BTW Mechnut, here is a link on how to do a poll if you end up wanting to do one at another time.
As well, just ask any of the mods to help if you need it "tweaked" later (names in the member list in GREEN - Admins are in RED).

Bruce
PS: I never do them, so I am not very poll literate myself. :)

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
hey everyone it ok I know my grammer sucks. at time I can't even make head or tails out of it .. Yeah bruce it no issue I forget which forms i mention it on at times.
I think part of my habit of short hand( taking notes ) has carried over into my thinknig and typing at times.
As far as my cp goes it mainly a leg issues nad maked them unrealiable at time. ( walk across the floor and they give out adropping me like i was kicked. but it not effected my brain( as afar as we know ) I als think some of the misisng spellnig may be comnig from the fact the keyboard is bit over 5 years old and between the wear and tear (and several soaking in paint stripper may be killing it too. ( never paint classic battletech figures at your computer )lol I know now that me 0 key is dead unless I pound it hard ...
Hell it could also be breathing all the fumes and handling lead the effected my grammer and made it worst lol..
IT no biggie I use ot people :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r:ing about my grammer. It was so bad at school I had to type any assignments ( reports and such) because they could not read it .. Then it was hard for me to type it at times because i could not read my own writting.
Hell if you guys used and abused yourself like i have over the years ( doing things you should not ) you fall apart too.
I find it funny I cna build you a computer from the ground up (I done several for friends ) but i could not write the instructions on some maintance down for them it w as show them how and give my number to call ..

thanks bruce I know different forms have them set different .. I not had much time ( even with the snow in delaware) to do a lot of rereading on how to do differnt things since i forget it in no time ( would remember it at the wrong time ) liek the time i was ordering computerparts and gave them the wrong credit card number ( it was my sisiter for some reason i remember hers and not mine and we still can't figure out how i knew her card numbers) I bet my braind can ( and does still) come up with off the wall stuff at the weirdest times.. specially at fire calls. I had some outof the box ideals that worked and noone knew about them.

I think before we attack people, we really need to think from all angles. Sometimes it's not someone just being lazy (although there are plenty of those). :)

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
When I first joined this site, I felt stupid and out of place. It seemed like most of the people were on a first name basis and they knew each other. I have been around here since July 08 and now I consider this place home, I know many of these people on a first name basis. I am the one dolling out advice, instead of asking questions. Don't get me wrong I still have questions, I just get to answer some.
This place is by far the best reptile community I have been able to find.

I wish I had found this site when I got started. I began on KS chat forum. Lots of riff raft - Joe dirt in there. Don't get me wrong, I got good information as well. The bad information really sent me on a quest to find the most information about the snakes that I enjoyed, from reputable sources and several of them so I could get different perspectives. I find it a great joy to answer questions and share my animals. However, you still find a few people on every forum (not calling names, because I don't care) who have a way to do it and THAT IS THE WAY. Moral is, take stuff from the internet with a grain of salt, what works for you might not work for someone else or vise versa. We're just here to help along the way.

BRAVO! You spelled the word right and used it in a sentence! You get 10 bonus points.
I've gotten used to Mech from the ASF forum. But, I just thought he had some kind of dyslexia or some such. I don't know much about CP. I have a friend who has a son with CP and he breathes and eats through a machine with next to no cognitive abilities. So, I guess this is not the same CP we're talking about.
So yeah, did you take the job, Mech?

Re: finding yourself smarter than you know
There are many differnt levels of CP I have one of the more mild forms, MOM got it but too in both our casesit affects the legs more than anything. For years they tried to clam it was hot able to be passed on but now they finding out it is.. As for the job they got my diablity screwed up weer if i make a 1 dollar they take 2 dollars. from me. so I am better off not trying, plus I not sure if I could maintain a job for long.. I know by the end of summer wit hthe few yads I do cut I am so worn out and dreadthe next day of cutting I glad it ends. IT the trimer ( walking part) that bothers me the most . but ti also the part I enjoy cause i scare out many a snake this way..
