male albino for 400? yay or nay?

a dude on craigs list said hed give this 08 151g male for 400. good deal or no? what you guys think? also if you guys could give me some tips of helth issues to look for when i go check him out id appreciate it.http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...7/albinom1.jpg

From the picture it looks kind of skinny I'd be worried about feeding issues. There also seems to be something going on with it's back maybe a kink? it would need to see a vet which can cost $$.

i know here in canada they range from 800-1200 for albinos so thats half price of what we would pay here, i would be a little concered of the ball pythons health if he is selling it for that low, but maybe he just really needs the space or is moving or something, id ask a few questions as to how the snake was kept and what not . . i noticed there was some poop/pee/urates in the top right of the picture but it could be fresh, when picking it up if you do look for retainin shed, scale rot, check the mouth out make sure everything looks normal, the snake does look a little weird in the pic could be dehydrated and that kinda does look like a kink in its back but its a small pic and i cant really see . . . i noticed you currently own ball pythons so you should know what they need to look like to be healthy, hope this helps and good luck!!

That BP is pretty skinny. I'd want to see it eat, and grill the seller on past feedings. If you get a bad feeling or think he's not telling the truth, turn on a heel and bail outta' there.

Also, grill the guy on the snakes history....Like maybe he bought it, can't get it to eat, and wants to unload it. Then again, seeing the tubs set up in the background makes me think this isn't the seller's first rodeo.

It looks pretty skinny to me. Albinos are cheap enough these days where you can get a nice fat healthy albino for only a little more than that questionable one. I would pass on it.

I would take him for $400

i got a craigslist bino as well but i have to say, this one looks a bit "loose skinned" than the one I got. 151 g for an '08 is not bad, I don't think. Although both my '08s are already at the 300+g range. I'm not sure on this one. The color seems washed out (or is it just the camera? or is it maybe in shed stage?). Definitely go check it out very carefully and ask lots of questions before forking out the 400 bucks. If you have any doubts, walk away. There is another bino waiting for you around the bend. Just ask DutchHerp!

Depends when in 08 it hatched. 115gr is small.

He looks like he could use a little weight on him, but his color and contrast is fairly nice.

I say go check him out and see how he acting point out that if the snake does look right you pass. I picke my ablino up at a show for 500 and then got a set of het axanthics fro mthe same guy as a steal ( in my book) 3 snakes for less than 700.
but yeah if it looks poor or too skinny I pass cause there is an issue with it ..

heck give me a year and i get you a set of ahet ablinos cheap if you not found one by then .. ( might even be by summer end .. )

he propley was'nt fed much.all my 08's are 400 to 650 grams now.

The albino looks fine. So does the tub. :rolleyes: :rofl:

BUT, I like to steer clear of Craigslist:D

lol not saying the holes make him a wack job but all those holes could cause humidity issues which in turn could case eating isues which could be why its that weight, but also when it was born is a big factor. lol

also if you look close those holes have all kinds of jagged edges for the snake to be cut on, look close, i could be wrong. But if someone is askin what we think,
i would be watching for anything that would suggest a future problem if i am making an investment. But i agre hide your plate incase he hase the hole burner ith him and you have a plate cover. lol

or all the holes in the tub could let humidity in, can you tell from the pics that the guy doesnt have a humidifier in the middle of the room and the whole room proper? a pic can tell you a thousand things but it can also raise a thousand questions.

in the first pic posted you can see what looks like fresh poop in the corner (now it may be from a diff snake) so it looks to be eating, maybe not enough but eating. dont let the price scare you off i got my 08 albino female for $300 and she is healthy and eats like everything that lands in her tank.

check out the bino and the seller and if you like what you see take him home, but like anything out there you live and you learn, and you only live once.

well i know one thing for sure that snake would cost me 700-900 like python guru said in canada.
