    Almost!
I know, I'm terribly late in getting my incubator set up. I got the Flexwatt in the mail yesterday (Reptile basics is amazing. They had it to me in a a few days). I already have the thermostat, power supply, flexwatt, egg tub, and incubator itself. Now I just need a fan, vermiculite, and a thermometer, all of which I hope to get today.

Akina is gaining weight despite her not eating for two weeks. Last week she weighed 1941, having not had a meal the previous week. This week, having not had a meal last week, she weighed 1953. She was in the low 1800's when she started the season, I think. I can't remember what she weighed at the time. How much do eggs weigh when they are laid? Oh and Akina is coming out of her blue stage so she's going to shed soon!

Thanks. I am hoping to put some weight on my '06 girl. She only weighs 860g right now but is eating like a champ. I plan on breeding her to both my pastel male and my spider male.

Your babies will grow soon enough. I notice that once one of my babies hits 500g they shoot off like a rocket. That's what my Sadis. Did. When I first got her in August of '07, she weighed around 90g. Once she hit 500g, she grew so fast. She is now around 800-820g, give or take a poop. She will definitely be breeding next season to my het pied male to make more 50% poss. het pieds.

Yea, its going to be a really really long road, especialy if I don't get any females from this. Would it be better if I sold the males online has 50% poss het pieds or sold them as just normals.

So how much do eggs normally weigh when laid? What is the average per egg?

Despite the bad weather and power outage at my apartment and having to move all 12 snakes over to my mother in laws house, I did get a bit of good news today. Akina shed, so we can't be too far off from eggs.

I'm pretty sure she did. On a feeding day a couple of weeks ago, I went to remove the male and feed everyone and she was HUGE! I took a few pictures but the lighting is really bad.

Oh yea, I think I remember you posted pics. Well then it sounds like you better hurry up and get your incubator setup. BTW, I don't use a fan in my incubator, and it works fine. I also use hatchrite instead of vermiculite, and it makes is so much easier. I just pour the hatchrite in the tub, add eggs, and then put the lid on. I open the lid once each week for air / gas exchange, and a little more often towards the end of incubation. I also have to wipe a little condensation off of the lid towards the end of incubation.

    Good luck!!

We will hopefully be moving the fridge I am using over this week. I have everything but the thermometer. I'm using vermiculite because I can get it cheap $1 per bag, and I only needed one bag. :)
