Thinking about getting a new ball

Ok so I'm not activly looking for a new ball python to add to my collection, but I came across a 50% het albino female with her tank for a decent price. So I'm going to try and convince my girlfriend when she gets home to let me get her. Wish me luck I have a feeling that I'm going to need it.

Do you already have a ball python?

Yeah I have 1.0 normal Salazar but I've caught the bug and was thinking about getting another one but wasn't 100% sure about it, but now since seeing this female I really want to get another ball.

well if you got the money got for it! :gj: haha im broke so i cant get a new one but i would so get another if i could lol i want a peid like uber bad! :banana:

If I had the money I would so get a pied especially since I wouldn't even have to convince my girlfiend on that since she wants a pied bad but the prices are out of our price range

Well here are a couple questions you can ask yourself:

Do you have enough space?
Do you have a place to Quarantine?
Do you have a thermostat for Quarantine?
Do you have adequate housing for a new snake?
Do you have enough food for a new snake?
Do you have enough money available for possible vet bills?


Not trying ti dissuade you, just making you aware of all of the things that come along with getting a second ball python.

Do you have enough space? yes
Do you have a place to Quarantine? that is a go
Do you have a thermostat for Quarantine? will pick another one up
Do you have adequate housing for a new snake? that is correct
Do you have enough food for a new snake? oh yeah
Do you have enough money available for possible vet bills? girlfriends sister is a vet and she deals with herps also.
Will I be able to convince my girlfriend to let me get another ball? not really 100% on that one yet

I was thinking about that but all our friends that I could ask to babysit our son already have plans for this weekend

That's a thought but she will kill me if we bred the het to my normal and get an albino instead of a pied I'd be a dead man lying to my girl not kool

haha yeah i saw off one site a peid was going 1700-2500 i was like wow and for het peid for a pair was 750 im like umm???? :confused: lmao

I love pieds but I'd be happy with a 50% het albino

I don't think breeding a het albino to a normal will produce any albinos. Sorry.

Well the 50% het will just open the door down the road for another het, hehe already plotting the next ball to get. Well I told her about the ball tonight she give me the boy you know you're crazy look but I should have her convinced by tomorrow.

We started with a single male Normal and are now up to 5. With all the great morphs out there I don't see an end in site, given space for them. They are Lay's chips, you can't have just one. LOL

You could always try the game my husband and I tend to play when one of us wants a new snake....

"Look honey I bought this snake for your *insert some sort of special event in here - be inventive if you must* because I love you so much!"

Then you put the cute little ball python up to her and say "oh look, she loves you already!!!!" (tends to work especially well with us female types) :)

So far I've gotten a ball python for Mother's Day, my birthday, Hanukkah (and I'm not even Jewish) and once my husband got a lovely female ball python for Father's Day (okay so it was over a month prior to Father's Day but well....I really wanted the darn snake!) :oops:
