Television.
Would it bother a Ball Python to have their tank next to a television that is frequently on?

Re: Television.
You may want to see if there are any electromagnetic waves coming off of it in that area... If you have any electrician friends they should have an EMF detector you could possibly borrow.. If there aren't any then you should be alright.. If there are then I wouldn't do it, ever.

Re: Television.
Thank you, I will try to find out if there are any.. But other than that, the noise is ok?

Re: Television.
I'm not sure how strong the vibrations are from the television itself.. Anyone else know about that part?

Re: Television.
Unless it's right on top of them I wouldn't worry about it. The vibration from the sound/speakers may cause some stress though.

Re: Television.
If you notice the BP showing signs of stress or not eating, I would think about relocating or keeping the TV turned down. I play music all the time, and my girls are never bothered.

Re: Television.
Well i don't think its a problem. But if you think in thermals a television does get rather warm. So depending on the size of the television. Also think about how many times you turn the television on and off. You probably have it on the same circuit if not the same outlet as the tv, This could cause spike in your heat source. Vary good question though. Our turtle tank is right next to the tv and when i turned on the old tv the light for basking in the tank flickers. The new tv doesn't seem to do it. I guess if your snake is already there and doesn't seem to bother it, I wouldn't worry.

Re: Television.
I could be wrong on this... but as far as I have always understood it, any animal with its jaw against the ground senses vibrations this way.
I personally would never keep a snake next to a speaker, TV, or stereo.

That sounds pretty awesome.

Re: Television.
I keep all my stuff just in my room, so I don't have tons of space. I have a tank on top on my tv, and that snake has no problems with eating. I'm thinking about moving him into a rack though to keep the humidity better, but he is doing so well where he is I don't want to change things.

Thank you for everyone's help.

Re: Television.
My BP's tank is on a dresser which is right next to another dresser with a 32" LCD in it. Never had any issues at all.
