Extremely po'ed
So I am watching that show Man vs Wild on discovery with Bear Grylls. I just watched him club a good 8-10ft long boa constrictor to death in the head so he could gut him and eat him! Now don't get me wrong, I can understand if you're in dire need of surviving, but for the most part it has been proven that Man vs. Wild is not as "real" as it is supposed to be, and he definitely was not in need of food enough to do something like that. I know it is a show intended to show what you could do in times of need, but i don't think it's absolutely necessary to go that far...sorry about my rant but that just really annoyed me. He just walked up on the snake that was bothering noone and killed it, brutally i have to say.

Re: Extremely po'ed
Did you see the one where he brained a water monitor against a tree?

Re: Extremely po'ed
how about the one when he smacked the olive python against the side of the rock wall after handling it for about a half hour
-
Re: Extremely po'ed
That is pretty awful, but what does this have to do with ball python husbandry?
-
Re: Extremely po'ed
Yep I don't watch that show, he's such a phony, wish they drop him in the middle of the amazon, no crew, just his pocket knife, his flint and a helmet cam

Re: Extremely po'ed
Bear Grylls is an idiot. That's IMHO.
BTW, there's already a thread on the boa incident... I think it's called
"Bear Grylls just killed a Boa!" :)

It's not your opinion at all.....it's the honest truth. That guy is a complete moron, I do not watch his show and I tell anyone I can not to watch that junk.

Re: Extremely po'ed
The only reason why I have SOME respect for him is that he successfully climbed Everest on his first try.
But that's it.
He's a fake. Some folks are still denying it. Why would they deny it if CHANNEL 4 released the information?

Re: Extremely po'ed
I prefer Survivorman, Les Stroud is pretty hardcore

I don't know if this is your first time watching this show but ummmmm..... He kills something in every episode..... Why is it such a big deal that he kills a boa but it is all good when he kills a rabbit or a beetle or a bird?

The difference between killing an adult boa (and large lizards, in this case too) and killing beetles and birds is that the boas and lizards are apex predators, and thus have a more important role in the ecosystem.
I'm trying not to get upset, Mike, I'm really trying... :taz:

Re: Extremely po'ed
Maybe he wants people in florida to eat the rogue snakes?
-
Re: Extremely po'ed
i dunno you guys he's kinda the man....i know he kills everything and that seems kinda messed up but he only has the stuff with him in case of an emergency...also you can't say he's a fake because the man is ex british special forces which is pretty up there if you ask me.....and he climbed everest haha

Re: Extremely po'ed
I couldn't watch it all the way. There is NO need to show people how to kill anything. Heck he had a gun why not make it a quick death for the poor thing. It makes me sick that just because it is a "snake" it has to be a monster. There are plenty of monsters that walk on two legs and he is one of them.
