    Incubator done(The Pillsbury one LMAO)
Well went and got my stuff needed. put another .5in of foam on the sides and used reflectix foil insulating tape on entire bottom. i ran out so i couldn't finish the sides. Would doing the sides like the bottom help any or no. ill finish it when the Flexwatt tape arrives Wednesday. It holds 5 6qt sterilite tubs which is WAY MORE than i need...... For now haha. well here you guys go. some pictures and a video will be added once its uploaded

At the bottom is a hole cut out as there's a UTH there wrapped with foil too keep the bottom warm and the 6ft of heat tape will be on the sides.

    Total cost
    Cooler $45
    Flexwatt wired/shipped $32
    Foam/foil tape-$15

All i got left is to cover the sides to get my Logo on it. I wanna reroute the audio and re-configure the giggle to a pre historic reptile sound. If you see these coolers at grocery stores. get a hold of a manager and ask if they keep them or throw them out. i paid $45 for this one that was still in the box brand new.

The interesting thing about that cooler is that it uses a Peltier heat exchanger for cooling. Theoretically, you should be able to reverse the current flow to the cooler and use it to heat the incubator (with the addition of a higher quality thermostat). I had one of those that I was going to use as an incubator but never did it.

You should send this idea to Pillsbury, maybe they would like to endorse you to manufacture a line of incubators for them.

haha, imagine if rats came in the refrigerator section in those tubes that pastries come in....and when you open them and break the pressure they pop open and rats come tumbling out....

    I think I see a potential issue.

It is hard to tell with all the reflectiveness at te bottom, but it looks like your tubs are sitting directly on the heat. If this is the case, the tubs on the bottom will not be suited to hold a clutch. A typical DIY incubator has the water bottles over the heat to disperse and diffuse the heat evenly, and many incorporate a small fan for better airflow.

I think an easy way to fix yours if this is the case is to put water bottles on the bottom, then maybe a lighting crate over them, followed by yours tubs. You would probably lose the 5th tub at the top, but if you don't really need it yet anyway, worry about that later.

The bottom tubs are .75 above the bottom. i ran a trial last night and 4 inhes above the bottom where the bottom tubs will be having eggs was 86.i prolly gonna elevate it up more. and get some water bottles. if you see the bottom has a hole cut out and down in there .75 is the UTH. i may not use that one and just the 3' of 4'' flexwatt.
