    pastel and albino ?
Hello everyone im new to the forums and after a week of looking around decided i had to join.I Have 1 dog ,1 cat,1 male ball python normal, leopard gecko and a adult cornsnake. The reason i posted this in the section is because after owning my BP for 9 months or so i have decided i am ready to expand.I'm looking into pastels and albinos so far those are my favorites. If anyone could tell me a price for those morphs that would be great.I have seen everything from 100 to 2000 dollars and would like to have a better idea then that.

pastel males go from like 100ish to 300ish depending on how nice they look and females are generally from say 200 to 400ish depending on line and grade (nicer animals go for more, and the line tends to have a price tag on it too. for example a really nice lemon pastel will most likely be the most expensive pastel you can buy that is just a pastel.) Albinos tend to vary from 500 to 1000 but im not too sure since i am not really in the market for recessive morphs yet!

I would go to a reptile show near where you live to get an idea. I've gotten things a lot cheaper there than online. Mainly because shipping is so much.

My advice would be to get into recessives as soon as you can. They take a long time, but are a much more stable investment in the long run. Not to mention, clown, pied, albino....hot dang!

Spot on about the pastel price. I would expect to pay about $600 for an '08 albino.

Garrick DeMeyer has some available at http://www.royalconstrictordesigns.com

I would have to agree with everyone else about pricing, with one exception. It currently is breeding season. You are going to be buying animals currently that have been partially raised by someone. They will be expecting you to pay for feeding the animal and the extra of shipping a larger animal. Typically around this time of year pricing does drop. With more of the specific morph available after eggs hatch. The pricing does go down some. If it were me I would suggest holding on till eggs start to hatch. It will also give you more time to make a decision on which morph you would like. The albino probably wont drop as much as some of the newer morphs aswell as the pastels. Some people think that both of these morphs have "bottomed out". Im not sure. I think that both of these morphs still could go down when people have snakes sitting around this year.

Thank you all for the answers.I will be waiting for the eggs to hatch because low price is what im all about;).i will most likely go with a pastel because of the lower price but i still have another question. While browsing some sites i found HETs for pied and a few other morphs for sale very cheap is this a ball that possess the gene to make a pied and such?

Yes. When paired with another het for pied or a pied there is a chance to get a pied out of the clutch. A word of advice on het purchases: If I was in the market for a het xxx I would be more than happy to give my business to a reputable breeder with quantifiable numbers behind the name. Food for thought. :D
