    im sooo proud!!!
    sooo i took everyones advice from this forum and got a small mouse for my bp. this was his first small mouse and he took it like a champ. i really seemed to enjoy eating something bigger than a fuzzy

    great stuff, i recently went larger, i was trying to move up slowly as i dont want feeding to become an issue and my boy took a adult mouse yesterday im sure it hit the spot for him as i havnt seen him since. well last night i caught him drinking :P

    thats good stuff. i was just soo proud of mine. now would you suggest to keep him on the same size mouse for now?? and when should i upgrade size

    when you feed him and it stops leaving a visible lump in his belly its time to move up.

    got ya. thanks. although he ate that mouse tonight and there really isnt that much of a lump. can barely see it. i think i am gonna bring him to the pet store and ask what size he should be eating. there is a guy here at my local pet store that knows his stuff bout bp's

    Feeding 10% of the BPs total body weight is a good rule to follow. About 10g per 100g of snake. A digital scale is a great husbandry tool, and takes away all the guess work of how much to feed.

    he was a small feeder. and my bp is about 1.5 feet long. a little wider than the width of a quarter

    its really hard to suggest anything large because i dont know what the lump looksl iek it may be just fine. a feeder should be 10%-15% of the weight of the snake. i dont weight mine but im going to invest in a scale. i feed mine a normal sized adult mouse he is about 24" long

    its always good to get the first real meal down. it never hurts to be on the small side. If its to big it may cause your snake to regurge. I have always errored on the side of caution. So a slightly noticable lump should be just fine. I may try tomorrow to take before and after pictures of a juvie and post. I do have all day to do it

    I fed Neemo tonight a 100g rat (large small)she is 832g empty. here are a couple pics.

    the area between the pieces of aspen is where the rat is, barely noticable lump
