My First Morphs!

Well, I spent 18 hours in a car yesterday so I could go pick up my first two morphs, and my first female BPs. Stupid cold weather=no shipping=long a$$ drive, but it was so completely worth it.

Sorry for the bad pics, but I'm trying not to stress them out too much.

Introducing, (drum roll please!) Valentine the 2008 female Pastel! She looks so much better in person than she does in the pic. Crazy bright yellow, incredible blushing and just shy of 500 grams. She's got a little bit of stuck shed on her back, but we can take care of that. Absolutely perfect temperament; she hasn't balled up on me once, just wants to chill out and see what's going on.

And Petra, the 2008 Pinstripe! This girl is a little smaller, at around 300 grams, and a little more shy, but I'm smitten with her. She's got a beautiful gold color that doesn't really show in the pic, and I like that her pattern's broken near the tail. I think she could make really incredible spinners one day.

Everyone I know thinks I'm insane, so I had to share with people who understand why I'm so excited. :D

You have picked yourself up two nice snakes there. I have experienced the difficulty of capturing a Pastel's color and I know what you mean.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I wasn't really prepared for them (saw the KS ad on Friday night, left to pick them up at 4am Sat. morning) so I spent all day running around town to get what they needed. I feel like a new mom, lol.

Yeah, I'm surprised there aren't more breeders out here. That's all right, we'll help take care of that. ;) BTW, if you know anywhere I can get live rat feeders, please let me know. The breeder had these two on live, and I want to have a plan if I can't get them switched over to f/t. The only places I can find are PetCo's, and I think their smallest rat is still too big for the pin.

I'm definitely getting a butter for some butter pins and butter pastels. Hubby says I'm cut off for a little while, but I'll be looking for a nice, low-white spider when the girls are a little bigger, make some bees and spinners. :gj:

Of course, that's all way down the road. For now, I'm just happy to have three happy, healthy, beautiful BPs.:banana:

I know exactly what you mean by everyone thinks your insane. My boss at work just shakes his head every time I request a day off so I can receive a shipment of reptiles in. lol
