Celebrating a year of keeping Ball Pythons (DUW)
I got my first ball python about this time last year. I went from one to 4 in twelve months. I hope that you enjoy some of the pictures. All of these pictures are less than a week old.
First up is my Mojave. I got him from Mark Petros. He is very tame and a big boy. I need to weigh him. He was my first BP. After reading a few older posts, I will start to lower the size of the rats to the 65-75 gram range.

Next is my Pastel girl. I got her from Constrictors Rocklin back in april. I paid a little more than some people would for a pastel but she is an agressive feeder and I love how bright she is.

Next is my Pinstripe girl. I got her from Brad Boa back in september. I will check my scale again, but when i weighed her yesterday, i could have sworn it said 932 grams.:D

I just got a Woma male yesterday, and forgot to take pictures before he went into QT. I will post some pictures when he is done his 30 days and I make sure he is eating. He is currently 500+ grams.

The Mojave male is already breeding size, the new Woma male (not pictured yet) is close to breeding size at 500+. The Pastel girl will definitely be ready by next breeding season. The pinstripe girl might be ready. She is 900 grams now, and I wouldn't start cooling them until late october or november.
I would like to get a clutch or two next year but since I will be graduating :D May 2010 and don't know where I will be working, I worry about having to move somewhere far with babies or even worse gravid females.
I'll just have to see what next year brings.

All of my friends love the pastel. She is just keeping her color beautifully. I got her with the initial intention of producing some nice pastaves. But with another male and another female in my collection, I am not that sure.

Nice collection all the way around!:gj: I can only hope my first year is as eventful. Got my first in January and looking at a couple more now.:D

Congrats! :gj:
Not counting our first male normal we got before we realized what all was available we are just over a year as well. (We used last years tax return on ball pythons.) We got some proven breeders though to get some early breeding experience and learn a thing or two before our morph girls get to breeder weight. :D
This year we are branching out a little and tomorrow we are getting two Blood pythons from Kara.
