Reptile Expo, New Orleans, LA

I was wondering if anybody else on the forums is attending, some places its listed west wego, some its listed new orleans. I'd like to meet some of the people off the forums at the expo if anybody lives in the area. It's May 30 & 31.

i just found out about this show last night. hopefully me and my better half can make it out. we live in central louisiana.

The show is generally at the Alario center. We should be vending at the show.

sweet because i live in Ponchatoula, we should all meet up at maybe a fast food place, before we head out there, so we can ride out together, and yes tim i know ull be there lol.

yea we should all meet up thats cool. tim i hope to pick up a snake from you then.

except for tim, hes gotta be there earlier then all of us, because hes vendoring. The way i figure it, we can all meet at like a burger king and snab up some breakfast before the show, esp since food can be a little pricey there and not much to choose from.

I didn't realize there were more herpers in Louisiana! :)

yea, probably not just too many that use the forums. im looking forward to hanging out with everybody though.

New guy here, but I will be attending the show. I have been the last 3 years, hopefully this one is a little better than the last. I am in Slidell, would love to meet up with some fellow snake guys

I will be going, I would be vending if my eggs hatch sooner (witch they arent) and if I had more to sell then normals and pastels. If we do meet up I'll probly just be at the show already when it opens. Hope yall dont mind though I'm only 15 years of age, but i have great experinces with snakes ball pythons and boas mainly. Just ask Tim, he would put in a good word about me. If any of you see me just say hi and tell me your screen name.I will most likely be wearing jeans and a white shirt that says galiano ball pythons with an albino on it,its a spray paint shirt you would get made at the mall. So yeah looking forward to random pepole coming up to me and saying hi im (insert screen name).

Yea I will be there before it opens as well, Usually the May show is pretty good, I think more vendors come then the one in November, just because of the time of year and all. I will be the one pulling up in the Black Crown Victoria(Unmarked Cop Car) lol. I will most likely be bringing my Yellow Anaconda with me to the show to let her explore off my shoulders, but you can never tell if she may be shedding or w/e the case may be, and if thats the case then I'll be bringing my White Lip.

Woohoo I used to go to that one, wish I could go with yall. Unfortunately I won't be home this year for it :( Going to check out some west coast ones this year for the first time, see what they are about

I got my male albino from Mike at 50 fathoms, I actually need to get in touch with him again about getting a hypo

Yeah I use to shop there all the time,but there feeders are a bit pricer then what I spend now. Before the management change I had some bad exprinces there as well, with mites, RI, and rudeness. My mom and I are good friends with some of them I dont remeber there names off hand:rolleye2:. I havent been there much since the store got new owner ship, but all is well some pepole I know from there are nice, there probly the same pepole you know, but others arent so nice.

Tim has that show improved.. I know the last couple of years I avoided it because the few times I went it was a shambles.

I may drive over from Dallas if i got nothing going on that weekend

I've been to the last 2, I found that the May one was bigger then the November one.

What happened to the one in Slidell? Last year I picked up a pair of pastels fpr 125.00!!!

I never knew that they had a show in Slidell, must of been before I got into the hobby.

If I am not mistaken, it was last may. I actually thought the next show I would be going to was right up the street, but its back to the westbank I guess. It wasnt put on by the same people, I dont think anyway, they held it in the blue fireworks building off I-10 on the pak harbor exit

Yea, I don't know of any show that was in Slidell. I don't think they really have anything big enough.

As others have stated, the May show (Gila Productions show) is always better than the late year show. I didn't get to venbd last May, as we were out of town. However, the year before, I did pretty good. It is a pretty "local" show, so it is not very crowded, but I like to do shows in the local community to promote the hobby as much as possible.

As for the Slidell show, it is put on by different promoters, and I haven't heard of a show in Slidell in almost a year. I am not sure if that show is still going on or not.

The show is coming closer and closer, the wait is killing me, as always.

Might?!?!?!?!? what? That's a sure thing esp since its about the only good show within a 4-5hour driving distance for me. Mississippi doesn't have a show, I heard the Birmingham, AL one sucks really bad, and everything else is over 8+ hours.

sorry Neal... the God Warrior is the lady that was on Trading Spouses she's from Ponchatoula I'm pretty sure. Her name is Margurite Perrin. She was the one that went all whacko screaming I AM A GOD WARRIOR....THIS MONEY IS TAINTED....DEVILS GARGOYLS PSYCHICS.... Its probably on youtube.

Anyway we live near Alexandria.

I know some perrins, I know of her, i've met her once. My uncle was on trading spouses. With Zamari and the swamp tours out there in Krama.

Now that was a good episode! The vegan lady was so rude tho. I thought the other mom from Thibadeaux was really nice. Too nice.

Yea my aunts awesome. My uncle was even nice to the lady, though umm, my cousin couldn't really stand her. lol. So you need to convince your parents to bring you to the show. The first time I went in May of 08, I was into my scorpion phase, and I did some trades with glades herps, so I really didn't get to appreciate all the beautiful snakes. Then in November of 08, I had just began into my snake fascination, but in November a lot of the vendors that go there in May, don't attend. Now it's May again, and i'm seriously into snakes, so this show will rock. I plan on picking me up another snake, probably a king/milk. Well that's if my money situation is straight with me having motorcycle repairs.

Glad to see there will be some people from here that will be attending. I will definitely be there.

Well, it's almost here, I can't wait. I'm probably going to drive there on my motorcycle Saturday, unless I confirm I can take my snake with me, then in that case I will take my car. If not I will just drive my car there Sunday to pick up anything I need. So who all will be attending for sure?

I just wanted to take a minute and pass on some information that i heard yesterday.

Andrew Wyatt with USARK called me this week to inform me that they will have a table at the show. They will be recruiting new members. They will also be collecting donations at the show for an Auction to be held after the show Staurday evening. Please attend the auction if possible and help raise funds for USARK and our upcoming fight with S373.
