Yea that does look like a normal to me too
Re: my first year breeding
Is this because of the size difference? The female is 1560g and the male is 2360g. The male is 5-6 years old and the female is 2 years old.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/m...reeding001.jpg usualy the females ontop, thats my female pastel, notice shes ontop. Not 100 percent sure about the ontop thing but i would ask someone else just to make sure. all my females are always on top, never saw a male ontop.:taz:
Re: my first year breeding
Hmmm, I did look around and notice that too. Well that would mean both my snakes were mis-sexed. I took them both to NERD and they said the pastel was female, however I remember a while ago I tried popping her and she looked male, but I have never really popped a snake before.
Re: my first year breeding
Hmmm....looks like pastel male and normal female to me. I hope you didn't pay pastel female / normal male prices....?

Well, I did pay female price for the pastel, but I got the male free a couple years ago. Should I try sexing either of them, both, or just leave them and see which one ovulates? Let me also add that the pastel didn't eat last week and she has never missed a meal and has the feeding response equal to my RTB.
Re: my first year breeding
Sounds like he is saying he is breeding a female pastel to a normal male

As far as I am aware that is what I am doing. Unless I find out the pastel is actually male.
So what do you guys think, should I try popping them, or is that kind of stressful on a breeding snake? Would they still breed if their both male? I just cant imagine both of them being mis-sexed.

Im sure the female is a pastel and normal is a male, I think people thought you were breeding 2 pastels together the way your original post was worded.

I think people thought the pastel female was a male because it was on the bottom, when normally the female is on the top.
Re: my first year breeding
The way that they are locked would indicate that the pastel is a male and the normal is a female.
Re: my first year breeding
Alright well I'm going to try popping the pastel in the next couple of days.
