    Panda Pied Ball Python
Back in November 2008 I was helping my friend Ian from Outback Reptiles at his table at the NARBC reptile trade show. Most of us know he produced a piebald super black pastel in 2008 and there was a lot of commotion on the web about whether or not it really existed. The snake was at the show. There are a few pictures out there but I was rummaging through some old files on my PC and realized I had made some video of the panda pied while at the show.

I posted the video to YouTube but the quality is kinda lame.
Better quality video: If you want better quality here is a larger version of the video of the Panda Pied Ball Python (27 MB). Enjoy.

i agree with wanting to see more black, at least the head but i'm completely sure we haven;t seen the last of this pairing, so i can't wait to see more of the offspring of this lineup!

The panda pied looks cool, it would be nicer to see one that is lower white though. Now that super black pastel was AMAZING!!!!!!!

    Cool Video!

I'm surprised it doesn't have a coloured head - all of the other pied morphs I've seen have had colour on the head even if they didn't on the body (with the exception of the LesserPied - and that's a combo I am going to have to try for myself in the long run).

It's probably one of the cooler pieds, but unfortunately I have never really liked pieds that much. I would much rather have the super black.

Couldn't you do the same thing with a super cinnies and pie balds? Sorry if this is an obvious no. Nooby at genetics here. ==>

But that thing is SWEEEET. Definitely needs more black though.

The super cinnamon is brown(ish). The super black is ...black. When you hold a super cinnamon and a super black side-by-side you see a profound difference. While I'm sure a super cinnamon piebald will be a nice looking snake I don't think it as effective as the deep black contrast on the piebald white.

Amazing! ! Best pied-combo ever produced. Thanks for vid.

BTW, I rarely see white-headed piebalds possibly caused by their lethality. Why this panda ball has white head?

Because it's the only one produced nobody is sure if the white head will be a consistent trait (I'm guessing yes). I'm sure more panda pieds will be produced in the coming months (probably from multiple different breeders) so we should get a better idea of what to expect.
