First of the year and first ever for me.....

Well these are the first eggs of the year for me and my first ever retic eggs. I know, bad pictures but I'll get better ones once I get the eggs pulled. I was not expecting these until the 16th so the incubator is not yet ready:O

The female is a 15ft lavender (owned by Justin) and the father is and albino tiger.

Thank you everyone. She laid 25 eggs, 3 have gone bad but the rest are looking pretty good. Mom's a real sweetheart and even though in a perfect world you should get the eggs from her as soon as possible after laying them, I was not able to get them for 3 days. Mom had a good amount of time to recuperate but still did not give me any trouble. She gently head butted me several times, ramming me with her nose but never hissed or even opened her mouth.

I was able to reach in, lift her body up while a friend was able to pull the eggs out from underneath her. She has since had a few rabbits and already shed so all is well. Eggs are due around the first of May (90 days for retics) and I'll be sure to post pics of the babies.

It is said that the female's will go into a trans-like (or however you spell it) behavior and that you can rather easily take their eggs from them while they're in the process of laying.

But after they are done, the female will be weak and tired. They'll strike a bit. They're not going to lunge right at you and chase you, they'll just hold their ground and hope to scare you off. It's not super hard to get them off. hardest part is working with all that length.

No he has not told me. I've actually got an export ready to go for him but have not heard back from him for the last few weeks. Tell him to give me a call and congrates on the retics....

Our tables in daytona are set and I'll be at the same place as I always am, see you guys there.......

Neil,you gonna be at the fire show in florida this year?,i still need a male yellow anaconda to go witht he female i bought at the last one(i'm the fat guy you called the anaconda whisperer,as they bit everybody but me,,,well,,thats changed,,BIG time)

I'm not going to make it down to the FIRE show this year however I'll see what I can do about getting one down there for you. I know that Mike and Justin will be there so I'll see what I can come up with and email you as the show approaches. (did not figure the whole anaconda wisperer thing would last all that long:D)

Thanks, the eggs all still look great and due to hatch around the 7th of May. I'll post up some pictures once they are all out.

believe it or not,,it lasted until december,,shed wrap around my wrist and if anybody put thier hands around her shed bite,but if it was my hand she wouldnt,,now if i dont use a hook to get her out,shes attached to me when she comes out,or if i do use a hook she wraps around my arm,,hangs out,,and bites me every few minutes just for the pure pleasure
