I originally bought it for my birds a few years ago, but have found that it works great for weighing snakes too. I just grab whatever bowl is handy and tare it out. It's been very accurate, easy to use, and has held up well under a lot of use.

Re: Scale Reviews
that one is kinda pricy for something that only goes to 5KG but the bird thing is pretty cool.

Sorry, didn't realize you were looking for cheap.
Have you checked the digital kitchen scales at wal mart?

Re: Scale Reviews
not yet. I did see some cool ones at Target. Just wanted to see what people had and how they liked it.
this is mine. I love it. it has the bowl that they can curl up in and i think it goes up to 13 lbs. if i ever have a 13lb bp ya'll can take it away. i could go on maury povich. i used taller containers for the rats.

I use a tripe beam balance...j/k :)
I picked one up for 20 bucks in the cooking section of Target or Walmart. Does grams, oz, or lbs. It gets the job done.

Re: Scale Reviews
I would think 10 pounds/5 kg would get the job done for the average BP owner.
