Some Airbrush stuff... (DUW)

Hey guys, I've been trying to improve my airbrush skills these past few months and am pretty psyched about a couple recent attempts. One of them is kind of snake related so I thought I'd share it here! :)

First, this is my first attempt EVER at painting a portrait and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Started this on Tuesday, finished it on Wednesday, which ironically was Alice Cooper's birthday (I swear I had no idea when I started it!)

I did this with automotive paint on sheet metal, first pic is before clear coat, second pic is after clear coat

Next, after a zillion attempts at painting fire I FINALLY almost have it. Did this one a couple weeks ago:

And lastly, a dog portrait IN PROGRESS! It looks kinda creepy right now but I'm happy with it so far. Hoping to finish it tomorrow or Monday.

That is some serious skill. Hope you're rightfully proud of those pieces!

I love just how realistic those look :D Some people are good at making cartoony-looking art, others lean more to the surreal.. But the alice cooper and fire pieces look pretty darn close to photos that were touched up to look like they were painted.. lol

Thanks guys! I think the realism comes from the airbrush, I can't draw or paint anything remotely close to realistic using anything but an airbrush, lol

I think that one was attempt number 14 or 15 over the course of 3 months... after that one finally came out good I haven't tried to do it again yet - I'm too scared! lol

Very nice....

And fire is the hardest to recreate in ANY medium. I do 3d modeling and its immensly hard. Even 2d computer aided graphics are really hard to create realistic flames with.

You have done an excellent job.

The Alice Cooper one is awesome! But the flames! I had to look 3x to make sure they werent real!
