    Hey! What's cookin'?!?
Hey everyone... I was just about to cook myself some dinner and wanted to know what everyone's favorite meals are. It might be good to get some new ideas, some of the meals I cook are starting to get bland and boring.

Tonight I'm making myself some Texas straw hat, basically a taco salad type thing.
What you do is put beef with taco seasoning over a bowl full of Fritos, adding lettuce, cheese, salsa or whatever you please on top.

So let me know... What have you got cooking in your kitchen?

Good thread... I suck at cooking and could use some ideas... haha.

After watching V for Vendetta yesterday, this morning my boyfriend made us "Eggy in a Basket" as they call it in the movie, or Rocky Mountain Toast as he calls it... or a Bullseye as my grandpa used to call it. So many names but it's delicious and easy. Basically you cover a frying pan with some butter, put a piece of toast on it, and cut a hole in the middle of the toast. Once the pan gets warm you crack an egg in the hole so the yolk sits in the middle. Then flip it over for about ten seconds and you're done. Yum Yum!

I probably won't help with new ideas... I like boring food.

I'm making my favorite tonight - steak and mashed potatoes - but a close second for me is homemade chicken noodle soup.

Less than thrilling... I know... but I grill up a mean steak!

I was curious about how you were supposed to make that, it sounds a lot simpler than I thought it would be.

I wish I had a grill, cooking steaks and what not would be clutch.

I just bought a new grill so I had to get it going tonight.

I had some rare steaks and corn with butter lots and lots of butter!

Normally it is where ever I go for dinner, that's why I got the grill so I can cook at home more.

Sundays are my comfort food days...

Cheeseburger with poutine... Meatloaf with potatoes and root veggies... Chicken or Beef Stew... Pate Chinois... that sort of stuff.

Today I had peanut chicken and sweet potatoe fries.... not sure they are *supposed* to be served together but they were delish. :gj:

Garlic Pasta! 1 clove of minced garlic for every pound of pasta, a cup of real Olive Oil for every Clove to sauté.

You have to watch the garlic, don't burn it, but get it to a golden brown and soft.

This is a pasta best served with fillet Mignon or venison, even elk goes well with it. I'm talking steak here.

But if you serve it as the main course go with steamed broccoli and mix it and sauté it with the garlic for flavor and serve it over grilled chicken breast.

I cook like a mad dog for all my family, even those fools I hate. You wanna cook? Talk to me.

Well..Saturday night I made like 5 different types of ceviche for my sister (soy.lor.n here) to try for something for her wedding. Usually during the week though I'll either grill something or saute some sort of meat, usually chicken or sirloin in some coconut oil. We do a cook-off every year between my dad, my roommates uncle, and me. Last year, I did a whole beef tenderloin in a bourbon & brown sugar marinade, crab cakes, garlic mashed potatoes, a grilled veggie salad(various colors of bell pepper, asparagus, cherry tomatoes and red onion) with a bananas foster for dessert. Sadly, I think the judges felt bad for the uncle because I whooped him the year before, and he beat me this time around, with dad coming in 3rd

I'm a big hot wings connoisseur but as far as what I cook up asides from a rare steak... my favorite lately would be Italian Chicken as the main dish with Garlic and Onion sautee'd baby reds and a house salad. :)

Sorry, daddy doesn't give out recipes :) hahaha

Oh my. I love garlic, I'm going to definitely cook that up. I've tried to do a garlic pasta type thing but it has never been very successful. I'll probably cook that with chicken and have it as a main course

Moroccan chicken. It's a chicken breast rubbed in cinnamon, cloves, allspice, cumin, and a few other spices. Yum.

A little couscous with light salt and pepper. Asparagus steamed with salt and pepper. Kosher salt, mind you. O_o

If I'm being lazy? Angus ground meat soaked in Worcester sauce or Guinness BBQ sauce, made into hamburgers and cooked on the grill with sauteed mushrooms and onions, bacon, and provolone cheese. Mmm. Oh, and an ice cold Guinness in a chilled mug. Yum-o.
