i think my petsmart has a lemon pastle

i was at my local petsmart this morning and i always look at the bp they have the one guy that works there said hey jason got to see this one we got so he reached and boy it was the yellowest snake i have ever seen it had very yellow tint where the brown on a normal would be could it be he was going to hold it for me cause i might buy not sure what would you do

Take a pic and post it.

Or if it is cheap enough, buy it.. but don't be dissapointed if its not a pastel :)

It is possible some Petsmart are now starting to carry pastels :( , but than again if they do they will be priced as such.

Albino Leopard geckos are really common, ours has always had albino leos ever since i was little.

Just as an FYI, the term "lemon pastel" is used for a specific line of pastels produced by NERD.

don' have a camrea phone he eye s are black and the yellow remindes me of a canary color i really werid it's only 70 bucks so even if it isn't i still would be a cool looking snake my friend said it shed last monday also

I've heard of pet stores carrying pastels now... but usually at a higher price... plus the fact that it is a pet store snake... not worth it in the least, even if it was reasonably priced IMO

I wouldn't buy it. I'm sure you can find a similarly colored snake at a normals price ($30 or so) that will be much healthier.

pastels typically have green eyes. prolly just a nice high yellow normal. i'm sure if they had pastels in on purpose, they would price them accordingly.

Yeah, there is a petsmart here in Columbus, Ohio that had two come in. I thought maybe they didn't know what it was so I asked how much it was. The guy was like "it is actually different from a normal and its $400. I just laughed and walked away. Quite ridiculous.

black eyes = not a pastel.

ALL pastels have green eyes.

Regardless, if you like it, buy it. I personally would not pay any more then a normal price. I have a few normals that are VERY light. They are still only normal.... and that is why I paid normal prices.

how much did you pay? sure the snake looks nice, and you may have gotten a good deal... but you hear countless stories of people who got their snakes from a pet store and now they're sick or have mites or won't eat... to me I'd rather buy from someone I know has been keeping it in a good environment and that I am getting a healthy snake.

a local pet store has a pastel for $200 or $225

The local Petco here had pastels for awhile but they were marked as such and had a $150 tag.

Some Petsmarts have been carrying them... Just buyer beware...

If it is to good to be true I promise it is.

A Pet Supplies Plus near me had my first ball python. I payed about 90$ for him and he's a normal. Has no problems what so ever.

Also I have a pastel in my mouth right now, lol. I bought her for 60$ after buying a fire for 700$.

I payed 340ish after tax. He breeds all his own snakes, except for a few which are breed by his friends store instead.

It is a *FACT* some PetSmart's are indeed carrying pastels. Whether or not the OP's local one has a pastel, I couldn't tell you, but it is possible.

There's a pretty big range. I have seen them as low as $80 for crappy ones up to a few hundred for really nice ones.

I paid $650 for my 06 female but a hatchling usually goes for $250-$350 depending on the breeder and quality and line.

so that's more of a local pet shop... I was referring to franchise places like petco and petsmart where they just throw their snakes together in a ten gallon tank without a hide and low humidity... You got one heck of a deal there btw

I know :) The economy sucks. I made a good grab with this one. Just pointing out, that all pet shops aren't garbage :) Nor are all Petsmarts though, some petsmarts have employees that will send cusomers elsewhere if its in the best interest of the animal. Not that I would know...:colbert:

at petco i could've sworn we have a pastel once. it had green-ish eyes and it was a nice yellow. i was handling it talking to my co-worker about it when it struck at me -.-
