How often do BPs drink?

I was wondering how often ball pythons drink. Does it vary at different times (shedding, feedings, etc.). I've had my BP for a week and I've seen him drink once. I assume he's out and about at night, maybe drinking then when I'm not around. But, I'm curious...

They drink when they're thirsty!! ;)
Mine drink a lot for about 24 hours after they eat. And yes, mine do their drinking at night when they are up and about :)

LOL...when they're thirsty...of course. Seriously though, I wasn't sure. My BP looks fine, not dehydrated, but I was wondering what's too much, not enough, what's normal. Thanks for the info.:)

probably a few times a week. You'll hardly ever see them drink though unless you stay up all night to wait and see!!! :nirvana:

I've seen my Normal guy drink once in 5 months. My Pastel boy drinks all the time.

"Look now! The Ball Python is leaving his secure environment for a drink! Do not frighten him as this is a rare occurance...Now, lets watch this miraculous event unfold...."

O.k, I am lame you can say it - I was going for the whole GEICO gecko commercial guy. You won't see your bp drink that often but don't worry he does it if he needs to.

If you have had your snake a week and saw it drink then you are lucky. I have 3 BPs and ive seen them drinking maybe 5 times total. They are sneaky like that.

Why do people feel the need to comment on threads that are 4 years old? I don't get it.

I've rarely caught mine drinking, but we were lucky enough to catch our Pastel taking a drink the first day we brought her home :) and just today I caught our Kingpin taking a drink. I've heard it's hard to catch them in the act!

...aaaand I'm just now seeing that this thread is almost as old as the forum.... SMH! -_-

Because I was curious about drinking habits, searched it, and this came up first. Why not throw my pic in there? There may be many things in life you don't get, who cares.
