    Burmating Questions??/
I have read other articles, on diff. websites about snakes and other reptiles, can and do go into a stage called burmating... do you guys think this is true... My New BP, I am a rookie, but he is doing really really well...I had some issues about him getting flabby( loose skin) I believe it was just dehydration because he seems real fine now... On the burmating issue, He usually comes out of his hide about 9 at night, and stays out for about 10 mintues, and then he comes out later and stays for about 20 min.. but for the past two days he has not done this... Could this be him in a burmating stage!!! His Hibernation mode... Any answers or anything would be awesome Thanks to all, and please have patience with me I am new, and can get overwhelmed at times, but I am not giving up!!!

BPs generally don't brumate and with only two days of him not coming out you're not speaking of a trend yet... I say it's nothing.

    No worries.

Balls don't always come out.. They just like to cram themselves into their hides.

    Its not brumation.

    Its just common behavior.

Thank you guys, This site is awesome. You get a warm greeting from almost everyone, and you know that people care that your trying to do the right thing... I appreciate it also quick question.. He just poked his head out of the hid about 10-15 mins ago, and I bent down and looked at him and his skin looked glossy, could this be a sign of a shed, his skin was also loose a couple of days ago.. I have not noticed him with milky eyes but he could be in the early stages if it is a shed so any input.. THANKS A LOT!!!!!!

It could be the first signs of shed..

I'd say wait a couple of days until he starts to get blue :)

    Yeap.

I tell you what, my BP started to dull a little bit and stopped eating much, and a week later he just started to get blue.

Sounds like the same thing is happening with yours. :)

I really hope so... I really want this boy to be a part of my life for a while....AND if not I will start with a new baby....I think he is just fine...I am going to try and get him to a vet for a regular checkup..JUST TO BE SURE.... The closest vet charges 40 for a single visit so i guess this is not bad!!!

He was really a rescue.. I got him from a friends friend, That said he was tired of taking care of him(not really at all). the snake was not properly taken care of at all....He had one hide, a big water bowl, an really really small UTH, heat lamp, and that was it.. NO THERMO, NO HYGRO, NO REAL neccesites that were needed....I have got everything I need, with his temps staying at 92 in front of his main hide he stays in, then 84-86 all through the tank.. Humidity is around 50- I just sprayed him to help higher his humidity to 60 incase it is a shed!???:D

Yeah man awesome you're rescuing a snake, I love hearing about that.

I'd say humidity around 60-70 when in shed. Maybe bump it up a little bit :)

Yeah I'm still in high school, but I'd love to take my pythons to school one day to teach people all about them.
