Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
Wow never would have guessed they are soo silvery lol. Seriously thought that a axanthic had something to do with it. Thanks for clearing that up.
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
and how do you make a black pewter?
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
works the same way with cins right?
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
If you use a cinny you make a sterling pastel, a nice snake, but not as nice as a streak.

Re: Silver streak??? Genes?

Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
anybody have any links to pics please???
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
I don't have any current pics -- sorry:( -- But... I have a Sterling and a Streak. Both are males around 450 grams that I hope to breed in 6-8 weeks.
My streak(Ian G. Black Pastel) is DEATH!!!! My Sterling is a very nice example of the Super Pastel Cinny(Graziani line), but does not hold a candle to my Streak(Super Pastel Black Pastel) in my eyes. Both are great breeders to have as they do different things in combination with other morphs.:D

I'll snap a few shots Saturday outside -- I hate using a flash. I think they both came out of a shed about a week ago. They have been growing so fast(GREAT FEEDERS!!) that they always seem to be headed into a shed!!! ;)
I am behind the infamous Orange Curtain -- The O.C. :)

Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
A Silver Streak is a Super Pastel / Black Pastel. A Sterling Pastel is a Super Pastel / Cinnamon. A Silver Streak does not hold a candle to a Sterling Pastel. The Silver Streak is a muddy looking snake with dull silver coloring. A Sterling Pastel on the other hand has subtle silver colored markings on top blending into luscious cream-colored sides. They are truly a thing of beauty. A Super Black Pastel / Pastel, and a Super Cinnamon / Pastel, are both called Silver Bullets. They both look very similar and I couldn’t honestly say that one was nicer than the other.
Here is a picture of my Sterling right after he hatched.

All of the Silver Bullets from both lines turn dark as they mature. The only way to tell the difference from an older Super Black Pastel or a Super Cinny from a Silver Bullet is the silvervish coloring on the belly. I do agree though, it would have been nice if they stayed silver. I am curious to see what happens to a Super Cinny/Super Pastel as it matures. Hopefully I will know later on this year if I get lucky with a Sterling to Pewter breeding. :gj:
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
Albey, I couldn't agree with you more. VERY NICE!

Here is hoping for the best on that. You pull that off and I may have to heed Robert's suggestion to talk with you about arranging a visit LOL (would not kill me to meet another Atl baller either.)

I’m a guy (I just have a thing for the girl in my avatar LOL) but thanks for the compliments.
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
You know I generally like Black pastel combos vs Cinnamons but I can't argue with that Sterling silver! That thing is hot!
Re: Silver streak??? Genes?
The Sterling that Albey has pictured is REALLY nice. However it`s been my experience that in general, Silver Streaks are nicer looking and command a higher price. There are exceptions to every rule, and variations of every morph. Ian G`s line of Black Pewters have shown to produce extremely nice Silver streaks. Black Pewter X Pastel or Black Pewter X Super Pastel can produce the Silver Streak. 1 in 8 or 1 in 4 are the odds depending if you`re using a pastel or a super pastel.
