I am sooooo studying the wrong thing. Kat, I am sure you have said this before, but what do you do? And what was your background on getting there? I am very jealous. The closest thing I can do to that is restoring habitat. ...if I were to go out and catch some critters, I would just get 'eeeewwwwww, what are doing!?' responses from my coworkers. :P

    Thanks for sharing the pics!

I work as a wildlife biologist for a private company here in Cali and I'm trying to get my research data done so I can write my thesis and be done with grad school. I have a BS in Biology (Ecology and Evolution) and did a few undergrad projects at the time and after grad school, I may go doctorate if the turtle surveys we are just starting up go well. The downside of my job is that you occasionally have to stand in the pouring rain at 11pm listening for frog calls or trying to radiotrack pregnant turtles and you must be willing to live on top ramen for the first few years...... :O

It's not for everyone, but I wouldn't trade it.

    Cheers,
    Kat

My four years of school mean nothing towards my goal of someday doing this.....

First of all, love the sig....everything stops for UAG.

Anyway, hopefully I am on the way to do something like what you do. I am a sophomore at Michigan State going for a BS in Zoology with a concentration in either Zoo and Aquarium Science or Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology.

More photos as more cool stuff happens is a must!

So guessing by the name, the beetles release an odor? Because I have picked up and handled those beatles before and I didn't smell anything. Hmmm, I'm almost certain they were the same beetles.
