I realize the way your screen is covered is the reason that your humidity is maintained. However, You're going to have to uncover the rest of the right hand side by the CHE to allow air circulation and prevent stagnant air.

Other than that, the set up looks great!
What brand of hides are those and where did you get them?

i got them at pet supermarket. dont know what brand they are.

Stagnant air? will that hurt my bp? if i open up the rest of that side the humidity will drop tremendously. is it really that important?

Stagnant air is like locking yourself in an air tight room... do you see where I'm going with this?

They need to have some sort of air circulation.

Do you REALLY need that CHE set up? If you can do without it, I would get rid of it and leave that open space on the lid for air.

That will also decrease humidity loss.

Put in a little spaghnum moss, spray it about twice a day, and BAM! No need for that much cover up anymore.

Zoomed is actually offering one called "cannabis".

Does everyone agree that the small corners around the CHE aren't enough air circulation?

Personally I see no problem with this but I also don't have a set up anywhere like this. They don't need much air circulation so if the holes around the dome are giving it some I don't see a problem. Someone more experienced with glass tanks should defiantly chime in.

with some cypress mulch, and the moss with a little daily misting you can attain 55-65% humidity easily, i dont even use moss and with bi-daily fogging for 20-30 minutes i can hold 60% in a 20 long with 2/3 of the tank covered with books

    nice looking cage :)

That little dial thing, is that a thermostat? if so, what brand/kind is it? I've never seen one like that.

its a zilla thermostat. it like $50. works so far. the only thing i dont like about it, is that it turns off the uth when it reaches the set temp. so the tems fluctuate a little. other that that is good.

Re: my bp and set up
Humidity can be an evil thing. I have used giant bowls of sphagnum moss, humidifiers, spraying, all of course with keeping the top of my tanks 75 % sealed. I understand how much it can suck but you do need a little air circulation so just uncover the spot behind the lamp (about 3 inches by 3 inches looks about the space you have there).

I use a clean damp cloth changed daily on the top of the tank and I find that works best. Mind you the humidity in my apartment is about 25% (cough, cough) and my tank is 3 feet long so it depends on each individual set up.

Yah the only way to get away from that is to purchase a proportional thermostat like a herpstat but the price goes up sadly. An on/off thermostat still does a decent job though. ;)

i have a glass 10 gallon... and found the easiest way to keep humidty up is to use somekinda mulch - cypress of coconut fibers - and cover the entire screen lid with saran wrap - plastic wrap- ... by cutting one hole in the wrap over the hot end and a bigger one it the cool end ... hot air will build up n flow out the hole creating air flow ... start with a relativly small hole - on the cool end - and go bigger to adjust the humidty. leave the hole on the hot smaller .... works for me and it keeps up the humidity at a constant 60%

no way man ... all the Kool Kids keep theirs on aspen or cypress mulch dude ... only the squares use woodchips !

but seriously ive heard lots of bad things about wood chips ... but it really boils down to what kinda wood it is ... avoid pine and cedar theyre toxic to most reptiles including BPs

I disagree 100%. You don't need any more ventilation then that. the heat coming off of the CHE litterally pushes fresh air into the tank. Your tank covered exactly like it is in the pictures still lets in way more air then the average tub setup with ventilation holes all around.

I have had 7 tanks set up the same exact way (with the entire top foiled and taped with the exception of the CHE hole) for years without issue.

    Nice job!!

I really hope you haven't made any changes! Don't understand why some can't leave well enough alone. He has followed the model that a lot of us use, and has perfect results!!!! Why are you recomending he loose the CHE if he has perfect temperature and humidity?

Sorry, just can't stand when someone gets it perfect, and all we can do is confuse them by telling them they need to make changes....

uncover some of the top: You will loose your perfect humidity and probably screw up your perfect temps
Remove the CHE: You will screw up your perfect humidity and WILL loose your perfect temps.
Leave your perfect setup alone: and everyting will stay perfect.

    Local garden stores.

Petco also sells little packs of sphagnum moss, but it's probably waaaay overpriced.

    I agree with Mike

The effect of warm and cool air rising and falling will allow plenty of air exchange. I covered the top of my tank with plexiglass and foam because my apt. gets cold in the winter, and leave only about 1/4-1/2 inch open screen on one end. Works just fine.
