Yay! My girlfriends getting a black blood!

So I'm super freaking psyched tonight! My girlfriend decided that for her first snake she wants to get a black blood :banana:. I think it's awesome because I've always wanted one myself but I'm trying to stay more focused on the ball pythons right now. So we went up to NERD this afternoon and Kara helped her pick out a beautiful baby boy. He's a nice black headed baby with a beautiful reduced pattern to him and he should darken up really really nicely as he gets older. He's a really really calm baby too, one of the other ones that she had out kept on trying to take a chunk out of anybody that came near lol but her little guy (she wants to call him Optimus Prime :D) never even flinched.

Kara was awesome, as always. She answered all the questions that Nicole had for her about the bloods and even brought out one of her 9 year old females so the she could see just how big they can get and let her hold her.

So, we've got a month or two before he'll be coming home (she had to put him on a payment plan, just because she didn't have the cash all up front) so I told her that in that time she has to get everything together that he's going to need and read up on all the husbandry requirements they have.

He'll be staying here at my place so it's obviously *see signature lol* a very snake friendly environment and he should fit right in. So no pictures yet but I'm sure there will be plenty once he gets home. He actually looks a TON like the sumatran that she has up on her forums, I think it may actually be a picture of him :) check it out!

Thanks Connie :gj:! You wouldn't happen to know of any good books on bloods that I could assign to her as "required reading" do you? I've seen a couple of books on bloods I just don't really know which ones are actually worth buying.

Cant say that I have. I just mainly read online stuff lol. VPI, redpython, rich crowley, nerd etc etc...

Congratulations! You can't go wrong with her bloods! :)

I guess there is supposed to be a book on bloods coming out soon. I'm waiting patiently...

Its a beauty and very relaxed very gentle and easy to handle.

I hear ya man! The girlfriends already laying down the rules for breeding lol. She told me last night on the way home "now if you decide that you want to use him to breed we have to split the profits on the babies" lol. She's psyched though, we both can't wait to bring him home.

I'm sure we'll be blowing up the blood python section with pictures when he gets here!

No problem guys :) Chris I thought that might have been a bit of information overload for ya man! :banana: They definitely do have some incredible animals there at NERD and hey you saw some stuff in there that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world :) Definitely was a great experience for me the first time I went up there.

haha yeah it was man, it was eye opening to the possibilities I had, and that baby ax spider was ridiculous. I gotta get a spider femal now and breed my ax. hopefully ill get that guy soon

Those baby Axanthic spiders were insane I can't believe we were able to see them and hold them only being a few days old.

I could die a happy man now.

Yeah those were pretty damn insane! They were actually Axanthic Killerbees! As far as I know those are the only ones in existence and we all got to see em a few days after they were born! That was so damn cool, those things were like all I could think about all day! They were so HOT!

axanthic bees I thought they were spides, well regardless they were stunning. axanthic spiders are sweet though too
