MMMMMmmmm love those pewters! I honestly can't wait til my pastel is up to size so we can try for some pewters. That's one of my absolute favorite morphs and I can't WAIT to try to make my own lol.

every time I see a picture like this I get amazed by the size difference. Wonder what the males must think upon first site of the huge female they get put with.. (in the voice of peanut the puppet) "holy crap, I'm gonna get squished!!" :rofl:

Can feel six follicles on her I could bet theres more. Both parents are huge hes like 1900 grams and shes around 2000-2200 somewhere in there. He produced some big female pastels last year.

Brandon, that is a seriously hot Pewter. Did you produce her?

Hopefully Albey posts some pics in this thread- best Pewters I have ever seen!

No.....there are a few ways to make pewters. Here are the two most common ways:

pastel X cinnamon (which can produce normals, pastels, cinnys, and pewters - some refer to these pewters as cinny pewters or pewters from cinny lineage)

pastel X black pastel (which can produce normals, pastels, black pastels, and pewters - some refer to these pewters as black pewters or pewters from black pastel lineage)

Great picture of a great looking snake. Pewters often have multicolor "distortion" in the last 2/3 to 1/3 of their bodies. Some distortion marks are similar to ringer spots while others are similar to paradox markings. Brandon's picture captures it pretty well.

All 3 of these are from the same lines (Graziani pastel X Graziani Cinnamon), none are in shed, and all are in the 800-1200g range. You can really see here how your choice of parents can influence the look of the babies.

Hot damn....now that is a neat snake!
Those color patches follow are what I was referring to as bands of distortion in response to Brandon's pewter. Usually good bands have yellow and orange flecks scattered around.
But yours are off the charts! The pattern in the colored areas is pretty well defined and there is a lot of normal color. It kind of does resemble a paradox.

Hi Joe,
It is a Male and hence my dilemma. I am not sure if I am going to keep him or not. I have a Male Sterling and Silver Bullet breeding as we speak and a retired Pewter just taking up rack space so I have no need for another Male. If I knew for sure he would reproduce that I would of course keep him. Why couldn’t he have been a Female? :sniff:
