    Temp guns
What brand temp gun do you use? Seems there are a ton of them out there ranging from $30-$200, and I'm wondering if there are any out there to avoid and any that are preferred. I'd like to get an inexpensive one, but not one that isn't going to work or is going to break shortly after purchase.

I use the Raytek MT-4. I got it new off eBay for I think $35. It's a great temp gun!

I have the PE-1. A fine little temp gun that works great... now I just have to figure out how to mount it on an extension pole with a lever to press the button for measuring temps in rack tubs. :D

    I have the 412L.

My fiance makes fun of me because sometimes I just walk around the apartment with it to figure out the temp of everything. Its kinda fun and they're great for finding the temps in enclosures. :gj:

PE 1 is perfect for me. It was available at the local shop and was around 20 bucks. Couldn't ask for anything more. If I wanna know the temp of something I'll just stick my hand in, no need for a 20 dollar laser.

    Yup, PE-1 here as well.

The only downside is the 1:1 ratio. If you want to take the temp of something small (for instance, I check to make sure my F/T have been reheated to at least 90), you need to be real close.
