Hello from Georgia!
Hello Everyone! My name is Chad and I just got my first BP this past weekend from a moderator here, Deborah. Here is a picture of the little guy.
https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...first_ball.jpg
This is Deborah's pic as he is still getting use to his new habitat and I didn't want to take pics yet...but very soon I will.
A little about me - I was a herper a long time ago, but recently started keeping again at the persistent request of my 7 year old daughter, Hannah.:) We have two California Kings and now a Ball Python. We are looking forward to growing our collection a little more this year and look forward also to learning from all of you! I will post pics of Hannah and our new boy soon...we are still debating on his name.
Thanks again, Deborah, for all of your help so far and for turning me on to this site...I have enjoyed it very much already!
Chad

Re: Hello from Georgia!
Thanks to everyone already! Grammie - where in Lawrenceville is the show and what times? That is great that there is a show so close!!
Thanks for the compliments on our new addition as well! He is the first BP that I have been able to see very closely and I just sat and watched him for the longest time last night. The colors are amazing on these animals!
Deborah, I am starting to feel this "addiction" already!:D Just got to get the wife to catch it as well!! :D She will soon learn it is futile to resist!:P
Edit - oh, btw - my first upload to images probably needs to be deleted...it was HUGE!! Got it figured out now though!

Her love and enthusiasm for her/our snakes is amazing for her age!

Re: Hello from Georgia!
Great, another Georgian, awesome. Maybe you can start doing the Birmingham get togethers with us? We have a great group of people here, and the Georgians that I have met so far off this forum are some of my best friends, even including Deborah, even though she is a mean ol French Fry! Good luck with the Ball Python, I know its a healthy one coming from Deb!

Shhhh, don't get her all worked up, man! I'm supposed to go to her house on Saturday before the show! :( Last thing I need is her worked up into a lather and I get the brunt of it! Sheesh!!!
I do agree though, Birmingham is a great excuse for those of us in the Southeast to get together for a weekend - it's always a lot of fun! The next "official" time many of us are going is in April - although Karl and I are going next weekend.

Re: Hello from Georgia!
Birmingham in April sounds great! I had been looking to take Hannah to that show soon anyway...by April I might have to feed my new addiction again:banana: I will stay tuned here to get updates!!
I am just amazed at the number of you guys that are relatively local! It makes me feel great to have this much advice and help close by!
Yep, and Deborah was absolutely wonderful to work with! I had contacted her in early December about "possibly" expanding our collection to include a normal BP and when she had this one I was ecstatic! She held it for us through the Christmas busy-ness so that we could get his habitat set up good and make sure that everything was in good order. We have finally dubbed our new addition "Bandit". Hannah said it looks like he has a mask on. We are looking forward to Saturday...our first feeding day...we have just been sitting quietly this week at times, just watching him check out his new abode.
OK, I am rambling, I know! Just can't get over the fact that I am now a BP owner!! How cool is that!!:D
