Is this serious!!!!

Ok so I know that thee are a great deal of awesome people here in this forum, so when I came into possession (legally!) of a baby American Alligator I came here to ask for help in caring for it and advice. Instead a few people scanned my posts from 3+ years ago finding a reference to me living in Massachusetts and reported me to the mods so that they located my IP address and locked my thread. True I did live there, but now i reside in Pennsylvania were I attend college and where the Alligator is legal. I just happen to be at my parents house for my winter break (the gator is still in PA). Instead of asking me to clarify they do some snooping and just shut down the thread. Is it me or is this ridiculous? I ask for info and I just get hated on by losers (SankeWrangler).

Agreed. People move. Hell, I forgot until about a week ago to change my location. -Shrugs.- I'm sure the Mods will look at it and fix it.

Don't let people like him wear on you. There are all kinds of people with irate personalities that think they should be considered the "hobby" police, or a professional on the forum. Just look and laugh. If it happens again, get a hold of the mods and have it situated.

Honestly if the guy keeps something like this up with you, pull a case of harassment since he would be considered as "following" you. At the end of the day think of it this way....you're the one with the gorgeous animals and he isn't. Big or small, people always come across others that for some reason or another, have to attack, degrade, or try to make an example of someone for who knows why. Its like they have to prove who has the bigger e-Pene.

I would like to remind some of you here that this is a FAMILY FRIENDLY forum so no cursing or name calling will be allowed.

as for the other person for the looks of their past posts theyre sure to have many infractions for the rude posts he seems to continue to want to share with us. also he should mind his own p's and q's and business as well.

of the harassment issue well i was a victim of that from a user here on 2 different forums and he got a tiny slap on the wrist here and nothing happened there

Sucks that your post got locked, but it has been unlocked. Calling other members losers does not really help the situation.

If something happens in error, just clarify it with a mod and work it out.

If you are not in error, no need to worry about it.

If I saw something I thought was illegal, dealt with a species I was knowledgeable about, etc. I would probably say something as well. The fact that we do have people that are passionate about these animals that we all love is actually kind of a good thing... wouldn't you agree?

When there is a obvious problem as in..
You state you have a animal that is illegil in the state you previously resided in, and your IP just HAPPENS to show you posting from that same state, what would you expect?

The rules state clearly that you cannot discuss illegil things. The thread was locked until it was clarified. It was clarified and then unlocked.

The person who noticed discrepacies this time might be the same person who notices a picture posted of a animal for sale being a picture stolen from a website of a breeder on here. Then it'll be "Good eye! Good catch!" instead of "Snooping and badgering".

Sometimes something looks "wrong" and needs to be checked into, which is what happened here. This time it seems that there was nothing wrong, and your thread was unlocked. I don't see that it warrents a internet hissy fit over it, nor does it seem to warrent name-calling.

If a person seems to be posting trash or being rude, let them accrue the warning points all by themselves. Acting the same way won't help YOU, and won't get you answers on how to take care of a gator either.

I hope you can continue to learn about your gator so you can take proper care of it, and I hope you are planning on what you'll do with it once you're out of college. They live a very very long time.

Here's something he didn't take into account: Had you not posted in another thread that you were from Mass, you could've just as easily been on a proxy which had an IP based out of Mass :P

I know there is a fella down here in TX that raises spectecled caimens and has some youtube vids about how to care for them and has a care sheet on his site. I have not been there in a while so i do not remember the address or any of that. Sorry.

I do know that he is located near Austin some where other then that I don't really know any thing about them or where to find care info about them.

I read your original thread and I thought that snakewrangler could have PMed that stuff instead of posting in public. But if I thought I saw illegal activity that could be of detriment to the animal or other then I would report it as well.

I would say that counts as Snooping....
Just realize whatever you do in life you cannot make everyone happy! Live your life by a set of morals that you agree with.Now on a positive side...

Thanks for all the positive responses guys/gals. Just venting a little, the holidays certainly can be a stressful time. But I'm realizing the vast majority of users on here are really nice people. As for the pics I don't have any at the moment, but I'll be back in PA the second week in January and I'll be sure to take lots and post them! But don't worry, the little guys is under the care of a very good friend and reptile enthusiast until then.

I do not agree with what snakewrangler did. It looks like he has mall cop syndrome trying to be a real cop but will never amount to much.

I think that if he had done all this in PM it would be some what different.
