The best offer for a trade yet (as in WTF?)

I have finally broke down and started offering my babes up for sale/trade.

And yes, I am a freak and am having major separation anxiety issues. :)

But I got the best offer for a trade today.

Car parts. Not a list of what kind of car parts, or for what car. Just "do you accept trades on car parts?"

Uhm... sure. With enough, then I guess I can eventually gut the snake room and build a car in there(?).

Although I should not mock. I once *almost* got a Mojave for doing lighting work (I work in lighting).

I do love a black market free economy.

You'd be surprised what people will trade for snakes...rings, clothes, guns, cars...its like a frickin pawn shop around here sometimes lol

I would personally never take anything other than other reptiles or money as trade for my snakes. I just don't trust people, I guess.

The car parts thing is kind of freaky though. Sounds like he's just trying to dump some old parts that don't work or are not worth much or they are stolen parts.

the car parts world can be full of bartering, it doesn't surprise me someone offered you car parts for a snake :D

I'd like to offer you a pair of alligator skin boots and a snakeskin bag for your super expensive rare one of a kind ball python :)

The last ball python I added to my collection, I got was the result of a swap for some old fish keeping equipment that I was about to throw out.
The downside was that the ball python turned out to have mites, but that was soon cured.
I've found that its always worth asking if a swap is available.
As we say over here 'Shy bairns get nought' translated 'Shy children get nothing' lol

Stolen car parts... I had not even put that together I just thought bizarre thing to offer.

As long as i do not get offered massages of equal or lesser value I think I am good. :)

I would do things other than snakes or reptiles, the same as I would trade my minivan for a nice mojo female. :)

I do tihnk that is one of the interesting things about snakes, and morphs particularly, is equal value trades. Part of that could be from living in Montreal. There is such a thriving barter economy here.

There is a web designer in CAN, that is also a breeder and he trades for web work, and his sites are hands down some of the nicest breeder sites I have seen (and he produces great snakes as well). So sometimes having someone that knows the product is a benefit and can spill over into other areas.

I love addendums... I traded a snake I advertised for 40.0 for a beautiful Variable King.... sometimes we come out on top.

Got another 40.0 dollar male sold, bought a colony of ASFs, and those ASFs just made a 50% deposit on a female spider and a female pastel.

So you never know.

I do labor and remodeling for snakes. Got a Mojo, Spider, and HET Axanthics this year so far from doing work on peoples houses and snake rooms. I am a maintenance supervisor and owned my own remodeling and repair business though....LOL

I'm a huge fan of bartering, it cuts out so many middle-men when it comes to getting rid of things you don't need and getting things you want.

I just wish I had more stuff I was ready to get rid of!

P.S. once I get my geckos up and breeding I'll totally be looking to trade some offspring for fishing equipment, my other hobby near and dear to my heart :D

That sort of stuff I love hearing. Trading one skill for another. Create a nice selective bred snake (which takes time, effort, money, patience, and commitment) and trade for something else.

i hopefully with be trying to trade some mosaics for snakes. i have a pretty good idea that i think is cool that i think people will like.....let me say i think one more time.

i have some new art equipment that im getting for christmas so.......should be sweet!

All I want is a het albino 1.1pair...I have 30+ good sized rats, I paint, and if I have to I would trade my motorcycle for a 1.1 albino pair.
My husband would kill me if I traded the bike, but gotta have your prioritys straight, bp's come first.
