    My New Ball!
Here's my new BP. I have yet to name him. He's an '07 Normal weighing in at a light 312 grams. He's my first BP, but I also own a corn snake.

I'm going to be building a light tent soon so when I do that I will try to get some better pictures.

Nice. Can I ask where you got him from? Also looks like he's about to shed for ya.

I love that amelanisitic! A fabulous example. very very pretty.

Your bp looks like he might shed, but looks dry, do your best to up his humidity a LOT for the next few days and give him a rough rock of sorts to rub up on. If he still doesn't shed and still looks like that, give him a good soak and help peel it off with a damp towel.

Good luck and welcome. If you have any questions feel free to ask and make sure to read the caresheet on here to double check everything husbandry wise.

Here's some more pictures I got from his first feeding (on live mice) with me.

Note: He does have retained eye caps, and these pics were taken before he was soaked to get the retained shed skin off of his head.

    The Kill:

    Now, the easy part:
    http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...3/DSC_1545.jpg

No, go back! You're not supposed to eat the mouse from the end, you silly little snake!
    http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...3/DSC_1554.jpg

    Ahhh, much better!
    http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...3/DSC_1556.jpg
    http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...3/DSC_1561.jpg

I could have sworn there was a mouse there a few seconds ago...
    http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...3/DSC_1564.jpg

And here's a picture from today, showing the removed shed skin. He still has retained eye caps, but with some luck he'll get them off in his next shed. If not, It's a trip to the herpetologist.

P.S. I don't think he's about to shed, I think that the retained eye caps were tricking everybody into thinking that.

Back by popular demand, Flame, the sexy little amel corn! (By the way, this guy is not photogenic at all. He's not too content to ball up like the BP does, :D)

I have a bottle of reptished and it really helps on my bp shedding. Nice to see another bp trying to eat the mouse from the wrong end. I thought my snake was just confused everytime he ate! LOL And I do believe he is going to shed soon. If you get the repti shed it will help him get it off.

I already have it. :) I used it all over the BP to get the shed skin off, because when I got him he was covered in bits and pieces of it.

Here are their enclosures. The BP is in a ten gallon situated on my desk. He's always looking at me while I'm on BP.net, for some reason. To the right of the BP is a tank that I keep mice in. They are separated by a piece of paper so that the BP isn't tantalized by the mice. :) On both tanks, there is a light just for lighting, which I run on a 12 on/12 off schedule.

    BP tank:

Flame's tank, a 20 gal long with UTH and rheostat, two things that I need to get for the BP's tank as well.

And in this corner, weighing in at 66 grams, the amazing...

By the way, check out my avatar. It's amazing what can happen when flame is cooperative and when I work my magic with photoshop.

Also, on a different note. As soon as I name my BP, I will create another thread for pictures of both Flame and the BP. It will contain all of the pics I have already posted as well as more! Until then, I will keep adding pics on this thread.

From here on in I'm going to include a picture in every one of my posts. It should add up to a lot in the end.

Stop being shy... Flame's taking the spotlight, you know. You better strike a better pose than curling up in a ball if you want to be in the limelight!

i love when people take millions of pictures of their bps <3 I have sooo many, but the lack of professionalism of the pictures, i dont have the guts to post them all. lol.

When my girl had eye caps left (only happened once), i used a q-tip with water, and it came right off, and i was very gentle, and she didnt mind at all.

Haha, two of my three balls take at least five minutes to figure out where the head is EVERY time. It's quite entertaining. One prefers the left-rear foot approach, while the other is fond of right-rear feet. Not the brightest of snakes. Live, frozen, pre-killed- makes no difference.
    Gotta love em

    Thanks Sprinkles_Mum!

So, I got the light tent done. It's made out of a box, a light, and some posterboard.

It works wonderfully, and folds up to make it easy to store and transport.

Sadly, neither the BP or flame were content enough to sit in it and be photographed. So I had to take some pics of inanimate objects instead.

    The box:

Hey everyone. I moved all of the pictures into an official pic thread for both The Beast (the BP's new name) and Flame.
