The beer thread.
Ok, well this is exactly what it sounds like.
Myself? I plan on getting into home brewing sometime soon. But for now I have to buy it.
Ive never really been much on domestic beers, they get the job done, but I want my beer to be like a four course meal. So I pretty much stick to stout, and my favorite stout is Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. But Imperial Stout is pretty good too.
So what is your favorite beer?

Re: The beer thread.
I usually drink Crown Royal or Scotch. As for beer I like New Castle Dark Ale.

Re: The beer thread.
The Pride of Nova Scotia, Alexandar Keiths!
"What do you get when you mix a beer drinker with a hand talker? A spilly-talker!Dumpin' the pride of Nova Scotia on the floor! Whose a spilly-talker? Come stand in awe of Mr. Spilly-Talk!"
Man I miss those old commercials. But yea Alexander Keiths!

Labatt Blue. All the way. :gj:

Re: The beer thread.
I really like a lot of the Sam Adams beers. Honestly what I like the most is my dad's home brew.
-
Re: The beer thread.
I like a pretty huge variety of beers but recently a company that has really impressed me is Unibroue. Their La Fin Du Monde and Don De Deiu are amazing.
-
Re: The beer thread.
I got hooked on Warsteiner when I lived in Germany. The bottled import isn't bad either. Newcastle Brown is also pretty great.
Unfortunately I can no longer drink beer due to wheat/barley/rye allergy :(
-
Re: The beer thread.
Hands down for me is Shiner Bock! Brewed here in Shiner, TX!

You should try Maudite, that's my favorite one they make.

Re: The beer thread.
Shiner Bock Baby!!!!! :love::beer:

Re: The beer thread.
Best beer I ever had was a St. Sebastian from Belgium. Live yeast beer that comes in a stone crock. I am glad that monks have the time between not speaking and not having sex to make some of the best beers.
When I was in Alberta is was only Big Rock.
http://www.bigrockbeer.com/
Now that I am in Quebec there are so many local breweries, that I tend to just drink what is here... Belle Guelle, Trembly, Boreale and a few others. Except I have a strict NO WHITE BEERS rule in the house.
(That stuff makes me wretch! )
If I get nostalgic for the West I grab a case of Sleeman's Honey Brown.
-
Re: The beer thread.
STELLA ARTOIS! STELLA ARTOIS!!
Or Heineken...
I'll also drink Corona Extra and I used to get A Marca Bavaria but they stopped selling it around here...
-
Re: The beer thread.
*Firestone Double Barrel Ale*
*Pyramid Hefeweizen*
*Sierra Nevada*
*Newcastle*
If I am on a tight budget I go for The Champagne of Beers!!!

Re: The beer thread.
Picking a favorite beer is like picking a favorite Ball Python morph,no easy task considering the variety. Personally I'm not huge on domestics(I drank enough Bud Light at keggers) Now I like to try new beers but few of my good ol picks would be Imperial third stone brown,There a few Excellent Sam Adams beers(a few crappy ones too...)Good 'ol Heineken or Heineken light:bow::bow:
Good stuff! U just got me so excited I think I'm going to go have a beer:D

Re: The beer thread.
I'm a fan of the Double Dog breweries Double Pale Ale and the Imperial Stout. Sam Adams' Old Fezziwig is pretty good as well.
...and like SCS said...You can't forget about when you have to buy your own beer on a college budget...I opt for keystones in that case. But dang...I love bein home for the holidays

Bud, Corona, Coors Light, Rolling Rock or Michelob Light.
I'm not into all those fancy, trendy beers.

Re: The beer thread.
"From the glass lined tanks of old Latrobe" Rolling Rock baby!

Re: The beer thread.
My all time favorite beer is .........cold and free
-
Re: The beer thread.
My favourite beers:
Berliner Kindl Jubilaeums Pilsner (I am a local patriot)
Erdinger Hefeweizen (bavarian, but good)
Memminger Weizen (brewed by monks, I love it, but rare)
Koenigs Pilsner
Warsteiner
De Kriekk (a belgian cherry flavoured high alc percentage stuff)
When it comes to :salute: beer I like Miller and the stuff sold in this grenade like bottles (forgot the name)
-
Re: The beer thread.
What am i the only Guinness and Stout fan here?
Bring on dinner in a glass! or some good ole motor oil! mmmmmm
I like Hefeweizens and some lagers... depending. Im picky about my beer and i wont touch most of the "Big names" stuff ( Coors, Heineken, Bud , Miller..... you get the idea.) willingly unless its the only thing available.... I want Flavor in my beer!!!!
-
Re: The beer thread.
I've shoved many a bud light down my gullet when I was in college. When I do drink now its usually wine but if I have to drink beer its bud light or corona.
-
Re: The beer thread.
My problem with stout kind of beer is... if I drink, I wanna drink a lot and I can not drink more than two stout...
The strangest beer experience I had was during the football (soccer) WC two years ago, where I drank around 14 pints and did not even feel anything, guess it was more water than beer...:O But Germany won that game, so I was pleased...:gj:

Re: The beer thread.
IPAs for me...the more hops used the better.
-
Re: The beer thread.
I'm a fan of Blue Moon and Sierra Nevada. If anyone hasn't, you really need to try the new Bud American Ale, a lot better then I expected!

Thanks! I was wondering about that stuff... It has the right tint, maybe I'll try it tonight!!! I can't stand regular Budweiser though... for some reason it just tastes horrible to me.

Oh thank goodness!
Murphy's, Boddingtons, Guinness...basically anything deep, full-bodied and dark.
I like your tastes, girly.

Re: The beer thread.

Guinness is by far my favorite. I was my first and will probably be my last. When I go to my favorite bar (The Penguin here in Boston) I don't even have to ask they know I'm having a Guinness. Kinda sad really.

Aww. They're like Cheers! They know your name...and your beverage.
Mm. I want a Guinness right about now.

My second favorite would be Warsteiner. I guess I am a sucker for German beers. I have been ruined by my father - he started me on the German beers...and now it's just so much harder to settle for anything else!
More than not, though, I opt for liquor instead. It's easier on my stomach (figure that one out.haha. Beer does a number on heartburn). And mmmm do I love it - in moderation, of course :8:
Take it easy everyone!

Never tried. Everyone here goes for Coors light or Bud light. On rare ocassions some Miller light, which is my favorite of the three, if I really had to pick. Ive only had Coors from a keg...and I was working that keg for the party - so I don't think I'd be the best judge of the complexities of its taste ;)
Is that the brewery in Wisconsin?
-
Re: The beer thread.
Bud Light, or Budweiser girl here... though my drink of choice is Patrone.

Bush light? That was the beer we drank when we actually had money when I was in school. It was either PBR, Milwaukee's best, or Old style for us.
-
Re: The beer thread.
Guiness, but I pretty much like anything dark. I drink AmberBock quite often.
-
Re: The beer thread.
I am fairly certain all beer tastes like crap. I am a bit fond of Flying Dog - In Heat. But for the most part, give me a bottle of rum.

Re: The beer thread.
My hubby works at "The Beer Store" which in Ontario is pretty much the only place you can buy beer... So I've tried them all... I still stick with Molson Stock though... Granpa's lil girl I guess. lol
