There are different lines of Calico but I'm not sure how many. We have a very low white '07 male from the Flora & Fauna line that I hope to breed this season.

The Calico pictured in this thread was produced by Jeremy Stone Reptiles and as I mentioned in my original post is from the VPI line. I emailed Tracy @ VPI to ask what line they are working with and she told me they imported their original male direct from Africa. He is pictured on page 168 of their book.

I'm not sure if BHB's line is related to one of these lines or not. Maybe someone else can provide some additional info. I would love to see a pic of your Calico. Feel free to post it in this thread if you wish.

Congrats Louis. That is a very nice looking Calico. I am curious where it came from, as I bought one from Tracy a couple months ago, and she called it a VPI line Sugar. I was just wondering if Tracy is working with 2 different lines?

That's a GREAT lookin' Sugar! :eyepoppin I've wanted one of those since the first time I saw them. One of the things that made me decide to get this boy is that I thought he looked similar to the Sugars. I wonder if there's any chance the lines are related?

Thanks for the posting the pic. I would love to see the new ones when you take some. Good luck with him this season.

Louis I thought yours looked like a KILLER Sugar when I first seen it.

TRUST me your Calico is absolutely AMAZING looking and like I said it HONESTLY is one of the TOP 2 that I have ever seen IMHO.

I wish you luck with him and can't wait to see you post hatch ling pics from him:gj:

I'm not sure about the difference between Sugars and Calicos. Most of the Calico lines I've seen look similar although there is obviously a great deal of variance within each line.

The Rene Valentin line of Sugars is the one line where to me at least, there seems to consistantly be a different look (from the other lines).

I guess time will tell if they're all compatible.

I got him from Jeremy Stone Reptiles and it's my understanding he was produced by them. I dealt with Josh @ JSR and he said they were working with VPI's line of Calicos. I believe it's the same line that Tracy is calling Sugars. I'm not sure why one is calling them Calicos and the other Sugars. I just knew I had to get him when I saw him, lol.

If you've got some pics of yours, I would love to see him. You're more than welcome to post them here if you like.

Thanks so much for the kind words about our boy!

I'll be glad to post some pics of his progeny when I get some, but that will be a while as he is just a wee lad himself.

Please be sure to post some pics of the babies you get from yours this season as well as the updated pics of him. Best of luck with the breeding! :gj:

    Louis,
As requested, here is the Sugar (Calico) that I got from Tracy. She called it a Sugar, and I know that he is the grandson of the Sugar picture in Pythons of the World Vol.II.

Thanks for posting the pic Tim! He's VERY NICE! :sweeet: What does he weigh? Looks like he might be big enough to try this season?
I'm not sure how far removed my little guy is from VPI's founding sire. I would guess he's probably a grandson too.
I would like to hear (or read) your opinion of what these guys are. Sugar or Calico?

    Thanks again for posting!
