Hey guys i hope im in the right forum area but i have a pet BP named POOPSIE and she is a little over a year old. She is almost two feet now and she has had an eye problem. I fed her the other day via dead rat and after she ate i noticed the right eye is recessed a little more than the other eye. I can kinda see the cavity past her eye a little. I will post pics soon. i don't no if her eye cap cam undone or wht but she seems to b not affected y it though and she can still see is this natural or what im just worried. :tears:

post pictures. I don't really understand the nature of the problem you're trying to explain. I'd suggest going to an exotic or reptile specialist vet to get your snake checked out.

Get to a qualified vet for herps... could be a number of factors including dehydration, parasitic etc. Not to scare you cause I know you are, but the vet is the best bet. May be something simple...

If looking for a vet for herps - www.herpvetconnection.com (there are other listings as well)

Try raising the humidity, sounds like a dented eye cap.

Se where her scales ends and this flap of skin is on the top part of her eye and the cavity in the bottom part of her eye
    http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h.../Picture30.jpg
see the difference in the length of the eyes sticking out they use to be the same length

Could it be an infection? My girl just got the same some months ago, she had a retained eye cap from 3 sheds ago which went really bad. From what I've experienced, you gotta take her to the vet ASAP if that's the case.

Here's some photos from the day we took her to the vet, we had to wait like 2-3 days because the closest reptile-vet only works on Tuesdays...

You can clearly see the eye is bulging out.

Is this somewhat what it looks like on your snake?

ok she has a vet already but before i take her does it look seriously bad i mean she can still see and she seems not to care....can that skin that is over her eye get caught on the cap and be strecthing the skin and that is causing the problem?

    Re: eYE pROBLEM
None of us are vets and we can't see the snake in real time. It would be really irresponsible for any of us to make a diagnosis or to suggest any course of action other than to get the snake to a qualified vet and have it checked out thoroughly :)

Glad you have an appointment and hope to read about the follow-up!

    Re: eYE pROBLEM
recessed is more likely to mean that the flesh around the eye is swollen and puffy, and kinda swallowing the eye a little as a result. If you go to the vet, please tell us what they say as I've been noticing something similar on one of my snakes, but it's not getting worse or affecting her at all (in fact i was sure i was just hallucinating before now, but maybe i'm not).
