08-09 JD Constriction Lock Up Thread!

I'll post more pics in this thread as I get them. Enjoy!

Note: Slightly dirty cages help to stimulate breeding by leaving more of the females and males "scents" in the cage. Also regularly disturbing females can be a hindrance to successful breeding, hence a more mild cage cleaning regiment during breeding season is desirable. Unfortunately for me newspaper is one of the worst substrates to take pics on and is my substrate of choice early season. Everything shows up in the pics! (urates, trails, etc.) Please excuse the occasional/seasonal mess in my photos. :)

I'm most excited about the fireflies and the fire het axanthics.....I think fire axanthics are going to be VERY nice silver/black snakes and the firefly axanthic will be an awesome black and white snake!

I've already talked the significant other into letting me get a Lesser next summer, now I gotta' start working on the FireFly.

Another one and more proof the best time to throw a male in is when the female is in shed :D

Not to my knowledge. IMO I think it will be sweet....as well as the axanthic silver streak.

Wow that would be really cool! Do your SK axanthics usually hold their black and gray color well? An axanthic silver streak would be insane looking! Good luck with those man :D

Hey, what would the cinny and the pastel het axanthic make???

Mine do yes. When I got into Axanthics I had heard about all the "brown" ones out there so I've been very picky about the coloration of the axanthics I have gotten. They are as diverse as pastels so you have to be picky IMO.

I should get:
25% Lemon Pastel
25% Cinny
25% Pewter
25% "normal"

All having a 50% chance of carrying the Axanthic gene.

It would potentially be 100% if I could get my 08 Lemon Pastel Axanthic to breed. He's got the size at 600g but just doesn't like the ladies yet.......he must be picky about his ladies :D

She is my favorite. She's what I would call a barbwire spider....very little pattern. What's sad is she has bred for me the past 2 seasons and never laid. I changed some stuff up so I'm hoping this season she goes all the way and I see some barbwire lemonbees!
