Saw this on the news recently... People are pathetic. In a lot of ways.
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
So sad, but what can we expect from a society that kills their own for a sale!:(
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
People never cease to disgust me. There was no reason to kill the snake... well unless it was going to eat the 1 or 4 year old.
*yeesh*

Re: Ball python found in family dryer
That really is just a shame I dont see any reason why they would kill it. I am curious as to how they killed it. I hope it was as humane as possibly although unnecessary. If not I say bring them up on animal cruelty charges. I understand it was in your home but it does not know any better. Also why was that pest control guy there if they killed it I would assume that you would call him to remove the animal while alive not after you had already killed it. Whatever I am soo disappointed in humans sometimes.
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
"We knew it could've been dangerous, especially with a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old in the house," she said.
No, you don't know anything.
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
Wow.
You know, I have a two year old. I better get rid of all these dangerous snakes before my big bad killer BP eats her.
Just one more thing to make me lose faith in humanity.
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
I'm ashamed to admit that 2 months ago, I would probably have whacked it's head off with a shovel if I didn't faint on the spot first. My relatives are still that way. I can't really tell you why we all grew up with this irrational fear of ALL snakes. It's not like we've never been to a zoo or that we've never heard of Steve Irwin. It only took 1 week after my husband brought home our first ball python that I gained enough confidence to run my forefinger down her spine, and one more week for me to hold this beautiful pet on my own. That's after 38 years of fearing snakes! So, have patience on the ignorant humans. They'll eventually get it. Especially if all of us start using our pets to educate everybody we meet (my kids had show and tell at school last week showcasing our bp's - we now have 2). And if we can take out all those nasty feeding videos out of YouTube... I'm not talking about the educational ones. I'm talking about the ones that show complete disrespect for the prey...
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
o_O WHAT?!?!? I can't believe they killed it!!! ... Stupid people...:rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage:
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
further research says that the snake was killed by the tumbler when the dryer was started the tumbler turned and the snake was wedged up against it and the wall of the dryer and the friction squashed the snake and jammed the tumbler(drum) so it didnt move and made alot of noise so the couple killed the snake inadvertedly by turning the dryer on
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
Yeah I was thinking the same thing the snake was killed by the dryer indeed.
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
The last line in the article makes it sound like the family killed the snake, but it does seem more plausible that it was killed when the dryer "just wouldn't spin" and "made a horrible noise". But that makes the story even more ridiculous... she was afraid for her kids because there was a DEAD snake in her house. Or maybe she thought her house was infested with ball pythons
Re: Ball python found in family dryer
If I found a snake in my dryer and had small children at the time I would of killed it too. They sound like they don't know anything about snakes. O'course finding a big snake, and not knowing much if anything about snakes you would be scared for your small children.
I think you guys are being too tough. Just because we know about snakes doens't mean the whole world does.

I find something that I do not know and am scared of... I get away from it. Killing it takes time and foresight.
I will continue to be hard on them.

keep in mind that the best headline says "family kills snake in there home" not "family found snake dead after starting there dryer"
