What would you get
Ok So Im down to 2 choices left
I have 1 bp at the moment. 2007 male Pastel
Would you get a Nice Female Spider, Or a pair of 1.1 100% het caramel 66% het ghost?
-
Re: What would you get
If it were me, I'd go for the pair...I love Caramels, and I worry about the Neuro issues with the whole Spider line.
-
Re: What would you get
I voted Spider simply because I LOVE Bees.
-
Re: What would you get
I voted for the female spider also, everyone needs one.
-
Re: What would you get
I have to say Spider female. As I type this I just got off the phone ordering my 2008 Spider female from 8ball pythons. I can't wait now.
-
Re: What would you get
I said spider because I just love bees! Such good looking snakes!
-
Re: What would you get
Go for the long shot. I know I couldn't let a chance of getting a pair of 100% hets go.

Hows it the long shot? Because they look like normals it seems longer? It would take the same amount of time to raise the hets as it would the spider female. I say hets too though, cant go wrong with caramels and ph ghost too! Good chances are that one of them is het caramel glow.

Re: What would you get
It's all up to you really. Do you want to wait 2-3 years to have a visual morph (albeit possibly one of the coolest looking ones out there)? Or would you rather have a snake in your collection which IMO is one of the best looking and usually the best feeding BPs? Don't take it as fact but most people I know with spiders and I know for myself will say that they are the best eaters they've got. Therefore you'd be looking at possibly less time before she would be up to breeding size and you'd be able to try for bees! Just my opinion lol.

Re: What would you get
I voted Spider. But that's only because I'm not yet a fan of hets. Maybe in a few years...but in the mean time, I like visual morphs. And like most others said...bees are awesome. :)
-
Re: What would you get
for breeding purposes I voted for the hets.
However, I LOVE crazy pattern morphs like spiders.. But I've convinced myself to stay away from any morph that has the kind of genetic issues that spiders have. Replace spider with pinstripe and then I might very well change my vote though!

Re: What would you get
I voted for the 1.1 hets/phets, i think the caramel glows are sexy, cross your fingers & shoot for them :D

I would agree with the feeding. My male spider will eat anything I put in front of him. And he looks awesome. Has the slight Spider issues, but one of my favorite morphs. There are so many combos to create with him.

Re: What would you get
Spider I love them and the bee's.

Re: What would you get
Funny that your choices are both animals that seem to have a little flaw in them. Spiders with the head wobble and Caramels with the kinking issue. I think both are a little over blown, but it does suck when you produce a kinked caramel or a wobbly spider after all your hard work. I think I would still go the Spider route. Bees are great and as long as you get a good line the wobbles are not as common as most think. The other thing is that a pastel to spider you're odds of getting something that is cool is much greater. On average you'll get a pastel, spider and bumble bee out of four eggs, where as the het caramels on average you'll just get one caramel and three possible hets. I'm not down on Caramels, they are one of my favorites, just in this case that would be what I would. Brian(BHB)

Indeed, I think spiders are a better start. The caramels do tend to kink often I have friends who worked very hard to get caramels produced and had no luck. But I do love the caramels!

Re: What would you get
Hard decision! I love spiders and they make some great combos, but hard to pass on the poss DH caramel glows! I voted for the het pair, but I'd ask if they were related.
-
Re: What would you get
definetly a spider. i love them. and you could breed the spider and get so many things.

Re: What would you get
I would only go for the hets if you know 100% that their genetics are proven. I would hate for someone to buy a pair of "hets" ans never prove them out. If your in for the quick morph than go spider there really are a million combos with those things.
-
Re: What would you get
I would go with the spiderr. there are more options with a spider
-
Re: What would you get
What the hell....I say get both of them!

Re: What would you get
I would go Spider. I have chosen this as the morph to work with, and I love them. All of mine behave normally most of the time; during feeding time, they get a little wobble-headedness going on, but it does not inhibit them in the least.

With humans, the old saying goes that with Genius comes Madness. I think Spiders fall into that catergory. They can be a little off in the cranium, but they make up for it by being great eaters and breeders!:P
-
Re: What would you get
Im not much on het to het breeding because i have a trust issue lol. I voted for the spider. Make a bee and then sell it and all other siblings take that money and put a little with it and buy a visual caramel and the a het not at least if you breed them and the het doesnt prove out you still have true 100% hets

"There was never a genius without a tincture of madness."

Great quote.

Re: What would you get
what do the carmels look like
-
Re: What would you get
Hi,
Well the ones he is asking about are hets so they look just like normal ball pythons.
But if you breed the hets together then you get a caramel albino and they look like this. :O
And if they also prove out to be het ghosts then you can get a caramel glow and they look like this.

Re: What would you get
Okay, so I've already answered this poll, but I just wanted to say something random.
I just woke up from my name before I go back to work(again), and for a second there, I thought that the thread was, "What would you eat"
Oh boy. -Facepalm.-

Re: What would you get
Spiders are just awesome snakes and they make really sweet looking bees.
-
Re: What would you get
IMO it depends on what your future plans are..I love spiders on their own, but I would pick the hets just for the morph possibilities.
-
Re: What would you get
spider female since you already have the pastel:gj:
-
Re: What would you get
caramels can have kink issues, spiders can have wobble.

You heard the man!
:)
I love spiders. They're my oober-favorite. So, of course, I voted for spider. My spider has the slight wobble when he has his head held up unmoving, like when he is on "hunt" mode. Other than that, you don't see it. He is such a pig, he'll eat as many as you put infront of him. But, he will only eat live ones. Tried to get him to eat pre-killed because we have this hognose who only eats pre-killed who is on a fast. But, nope, he will only take them alive. But, because of that wobble when he's on hunt mode, he still hasn't mastered the art of taking a rat by the neck. One time, he went for the head, missed, and got the back leg instead. He coiled anyway, but the rat's head was free and took two swipes at him before he got it under control which was before I got the hemostats in my hand. They were small puncture wounds but it was still worrisome. So now, everytime he feeds, I got the hemostats poised and ready for immediate intervention.
