Okay it's finally a cold day in...
    :giggle:

I have finally completely lost my mind. I'm not sure what exactly made me take that last step off into the deep end (I think it was my son), but I have made the decision to become a T owner.

I am now the proud owner of a tiny little Chaco Golden Knee.

Congrats, Tigerlilly. Cute little bugger. After having a Mature Female Rosehair for over two years, I obtained two OBT slings. These are the smallest spiders I've seen in my life.

Yeah, I think I do too. Especially since I think the little thing is just too cool. I'm looking forward to seeing it grow up. :D

But if you ever change your mind I'll be happy to send you one. ;) :giggle:

:8: Thanks Robin. I know it's so odd, but dang if the little booger isn't fascinating. Do you think my husband can use this as proof that I'm out of my mind?

Thanks. My mom had several Ts while I was growing up, and they always kinda freaked me out. I'm not sure what caused the change of heart, but I hope to give this little guy a very long life.

Well, congrats anyhow, Christie! It's actually a pretty amazing thing to be willing to take such a step and overcome old fears and prejudices!

    Tiger Lilly,
Please make sure you keep the humidity up for your sling, and spray every few days to keep a section of the substrate moist.
I had one your size and he had a bad molt and we got him past that, but then he tried to molt again, and didn't make it.
So watch him and keep a section of the substrate moist.

Congrats by the way they are great T's.

Wow I can honestly say that is a very pretty creature. My family's still in shock that at a recent Taylor show I let the T guy put a few of his favorites on my hands. I can't quite believe I allowed it either but I did find that they aren't as scary as I'd assumed them to be.

Congrats on getting past your own reservations about these rather fascinating critters. :)

Yup to me or Matt. He kept opening it up more than I did.

I'm still slightly nervous about the little thing, but I manage to swap him into a new container without mishap. :D

Thanks. I appreciate all the help I can get with this baby. I did mist container before I put Cookie in. Yup the my son named it.

It was so cool the way Cookie has adjusted the dirt. Dang, I'm a dork. I gotta go take another picture because I swear it looks different.

Yeah my son was the reason I even stopped to look at the table. Then I started talking, and somehow I ended up with this little sling. Very cool.... it would make an awesome present. :giggle: :bolt:

Here's a couple more pics of Cookie after he/she redecorated.

I thought I'd also mention that Cookie has now had it's first meal! We had to leave before it would eat, but the cricket is toast. :w00t:

Neat new little addition! It actually took quite a bit for me to open this thread... I have always been terrified of spiders. I've been doing better since being on this site, but I think this is the first time I have *willingly* opened a thread about a T (blasted spider BPs....I always opened those "look at my new spider" thinking it's a snake. Nope, real spider! Talk about a freak out!)

Anyways, he's actually not too bad. I thought he was bigger until those last pictures. Congrats on the new little boy/girl crawly thing! :D

I just didn't want him to freak out and fly out of that little cup and go splat.

Oh you can thank my son. (I think he has you to thank for his new video game)

That's how it started for me, and now I have my first little T. My mom is still in shock, since I always complained about hers as a kid.

That is wonderful!!!!! Welcome to the dark side!!!!!! lol That is an adorable little sling!!!! Chacos are great Ts. They grow pretty quickly when they are that little and then they hit a certain point and just stop. I got my first chaco almost 4 years ago and she was about the size of yours, she is between 3 1/2 and 4 inches now.
    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mina. Cookie had his/her first meal last night. It was really cool, even though I didn't see the actual pounce. (just a teensy bit shy)

I still have so many questions and my account on the arachno boards is taking forever to be activated. How often should I change the substrate? How big a cricket can a little T take? Should I give it a varied diet, like superworms or other insect?
