Well actually he's not too little. He's more of a nightcrawler than a little worm, but dang he's cute!!!! While at the Birmingham show, I fell in love with this little guy. He was so calm, and just beautiful. I didn't have a prayer that the hubby would okay the new little addition, but I decided to try anyway. AND HE SAID YES! :O http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ites/thud1.gif http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ites/what1.gif

So I am happy to introduce you to my new Nelson's Milksnake. I was so proud of my son. He first thought is was a coral snake, but looked closer at the colors and then guessed a milksnake! :happycry:

    Well without further ado...

Now he was a bit of an impulse buy, since I didn't imagine being allowed to get a new snake so any and all information/links would be welcome. From what I can tell it looks like his temps should be 75 / 85. Does this sound right?

Milksnakes are something that I will end up with eventually...almost picked up some hypo hondurans at the last show I went to, but I had to control myself... LOL!

I keep my milsnakes and Kings at 72-75 on the cool side and 82-85 on the warm side, if that helps!

I was hoping to get your input on this little guy. I'm in total love, and I think it was your little worms that started my interest.

    Thank you girl!

Thanks. I'm really having a hard time letting him settle in. I just want to hang out with him, but I'll make myself behave.

Oh Christie you got a Nelson's! He's gorgeous (our Emi is in snake love with him already LOL). You are going to love him. If he's anything like our Emi in personality, you'll have a wonderful time with him. Nelson's seem to be known for their calm, easy nature. Once Emi got past the little wiggly worm stage she's matured into a real sweetheart and I'm sure your little male will be the same. He's so cute!

Yup. I thought of you when I got him. He's not a baby, so he seems to be over the musking/freaking out stage. He was so calm, which is what won me over. Well that and the fact my husband said I could get him. :D

Thanks. He's not hyper at all. You can ask Robin and Judy and Matt. He was very calm and tolerant of handling.

    OMG! :O

My husband actually said my little milksnake is cool (for a snake). I just want this noted so that if I happen to die of the actual shock, it has been recorded for posterity. Not to mention you'll know why I suddenly disappear! http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ites/thud1.gif

You should have told me this earlier. :P

I'm still in shock. I'm pretty sure he was abducted by aliens or something, but I'm going to roll with it. :giggle:

Oh and my little boy had his first meal. DANG that was super easy. I put rat pinkie in and he just swallowed it about 2 seconds after I put it in front of him. WOW.... he is just such an awesome little snake!

Nelson's seem to settle down very nicely. Emi's never musked, tried to nip or anything along those lines since she was very small and new to us. She's even calmed down to the point that handling her isn't a constant "quick grab her she's taking off again!!!!" thing. :)

Awww he sounds great! I've never noticed any hesitation in taking prey from our Nelson's. She'll pretty much eat anything she can stuff her face around and could care less if it's live, f/t, p/k or a mouse/rat/asf. Food's food as far as Emi's concerned LOL.

It was just so different from the WAM I usually get with the bps. They hit their food hard, and this little guy was just ... oh look food num num num. :giggle:

I'm looking forward to getting him out later this week. I can't wait!!!
