    some pics of my blood
This guy was pretty much given to me cause he was very snappy in his previous home. not sure how old "he" is, or even what sex or species he is. i tihnk he may be a red blood, but ive had someone tell me that it looks like a borneo...he may be a cross for all i know. i wasnt even sure what i would do with him, but hes really grown on me, so hes staying here :P with the bad rep they seem to have, i was kinda scared of what he would be like LOL, but with me hes been nothing but an angel :) hes very sweet and tolerant, never once tried to bite or strike :)

i believe that his cage in his previous home was much too large so he just felt insecure. the guy i got him from has a younger son that wanted to hold him, he prob make too-quick movements around him which prob make him strike too, who knows....

His scales just below and above his eye are dead on for brongersmai, but he could still be a mix. I'm not anywhere near good enough to tell just by eye balling.

But, he looks like he will be a nice red boy, and he has a pretty head, wicked pattern too. :gj:

you think he looks like a little male? believe me, im horrible at trying to identify blood species lol. ive heard about the whole eye scale thing, but some people dont think its very reliable :/ i seriously doubt i will ever try to breed him, but who knows. i MAY be open to it later on...idk.

The eye scale thing is very accurate if you know what to look for. Head scalation is the scientific way of distinguishing stp species. There's no way to tell if he "looks" like a male. Take him to the vet and get him probed if you really want to know.

Either way I really like him. I really like the patterning on his neck.

Looks like a brong to me. The thing about these and most young snakes is that they're naturally defensive. Yours should be no different.

Are you knowledgeable on they're husbandry requirements?

And is it just me or does his belly look like it may be a little rough? Is it the picture or is it scale rot?

Nice pickup! All these threads getting started I'm gonna have to post some pics of my animals :)

Brongersmai I believe should have the grey speckly belly. If you know what scale rot is (and what healthy scales look like, seeing you have quite a few boas) I think you'd be able to notice if he had scale rot. :gj:

What exactly do you mean by this?

thanks :) hes def a cutie, and such a sweet one at that :) i was scared of what his temperament would be like at first, but hes not snappy at all. but then again, i dont make sudden movements around him and i try my best not to startle him or make him mad lol.

it doesnt look at all to me like he has scale rot. his scales are smooth, no lesions, no nothing. ive emailed some buds of mine who have red bloods, and all of them said he looks perfectly normal, being that all of their red bloods have grey bellies too. we had a ball a while back at work that had scale rot, it was very obvious, even when it first started. i do have to be careful wtih this guy, and keep on top of his cleaning, cause this guy has a habit of spilling his water all over the place  little turd, LOL. :D

Most young snakes are defensive and snappy. It's not uncommon for them to be very uncomfortable and strikey when young.

ya know i hear that alot about babies and know plenty of people that have had a snappy baby at one time or another, but with all of mine, none of them have ever been defensive and snappy. i have maybe one or two youngun's that are a teeny bit jittery, but no aggression :) ive seen very angry adults too though, so its not always guaranteed that your baby will calm down with age LOL

i just like to think i have been blessed by the snake gods with snakes that have good temperaments to go along with their good looks :D

Not a borneo, least not in my opinion. Looks more like a sumatran.

Meeeeehhhh, I'd not say a sumatran, if by sumatran you mean P. Curtus. :P
