Re: Where's Brooklyn? (pics)
cute pics and cute chihuahua. Yes not a big fan of them either, so its not so much not caring for them its more like tolerating them from a far distance.. they are one of gods creatures.. just one of the more annoying, yappy, nippy kind, thats all. :D

Re: Where's Brooklyn? (pics)
I can assure you, she's neither yappy or nippy. i cant stand lil dogs that are like that. i raise my chi exactly the way i raise my gsd. big or small, no dog should be allowed to bark unnecessarily or bite/nip unwarranted.
the reason lots of lil dogs are like that is because they are spoiled and have no rules/groundwork/training. dont get me wrong, she is very spoiled along w/ my gsd but they behave due to their groundwork/socializing and training. Brooklyn will let out a couple barks when someone comes here but thats normal dog behavior and definitely not classified as yappy.
she's a good girl and LOVESSSS kids. never once has she even looked like she was going to nip at anyone. i had my sisters 3 kids over the summer visiting me from CT, Brooklyn loved it! heres a pic taken with one of my nephews. He fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie cuddling her. i LOVE these pics!

*note*
excuse the stained lookin areas on the back of the couch, it was either sweat, drool or from a leaky sippy cup? lol dont bother me as it washes right out, thank goodness for the micro fiber couches!

I can't give enough thumbs up to you here!
Absolutely adorable dog and I couldn't agree with you more about training. I worked at a dog kennel for 3 years and I prefer big dogs to little dogs for the exact reasons you said. People don't train them! Why bother to teach your dog to sit, stay, come when you can just pick it up and carry it everywhere? Sheesh... I've seen many little dogs though that were trained like a dog should be and they were wonderful dogs.
And those pictures are too cute!

Re: Where's Brooklyn? (pics)
Please dont misunderstand me, I never said your dog was one of those, just most of the ones I've encountered was one of those dogs. I do agree that no dog should be without training, but nearly all chi's that I've met (or most small dogs I know for that matter) are yappy and nippy. As for the pictures, those are adorable.

Oh my goodness she's the cutest thing!!! I totally agree with you about Chihuahuas and it's how you train them and not completely spoil them :D Though, I'll admit my little Thor is a tad bit spoiled, but he does listen to us, we take him out off leash, take him to visit peoples' homes, and he's not yippy or nippy. I wasn't entirely a huge fan of Chihuahuas but after meeting a long haired Chihuahua my heart melted!
Here's my little Thor

Oh no no I completely understand you, sorry if I somehow came across as sounding like I was offended. Quite the opposite really, Im proud of my girl because shes NOT like that and wanted to share, thats all. :)
Most Chi's that I have met were annoying lil yappers & under the table biters. (You know they come lunging out at you and then dive for cover under what ever's closest then come popping back out at ya a second later.) Or they think they can attack & kill a big dog while the owners watch & laugh, not smart at all- what happens one day when the big dog bites back? I get veryyy annoyed when I see this happen especially if the owners just allow it! Its very dangerous.
I have only met 2 other chi's besides Brooklyn that was nice, one being brookies mom.
So yeah, I'm right there with ya on not liking the little untrained dogs but i especially dont like the owners, they cause the problems.
:)

Oh he's handsome!!!! How much does he weigh? I love the tri colored chi's, one of Brooklyns litter mates was a chocolate tri. I love Thors lil spiked collar, so macho!! Comical on little dogs! hehehe Brooklyn had a super teeny pink spiked one as a puppy but if you can believe it, she out grew it lol. brookie is also great off leash, goes potty and comes right back inside, we take her to the park and she stays right with us and comes when called.
Glad to hear Thor's spoiled but also well behaved. Yay for the well balanced Chi's!! :gj:

Re: Where's Brooklyn? (pics)
Very adorable. Love the pictures of your little one as well. That's something to be thankful of. ^_^
I'm with most here who're not fans of the Chihuahuas. I often tell my boyfriend's mother that her Bruiser will make a nice snack for Hadrian. ^_^ She spoils him rotten...ridiculously rotten.

Re: Where's Brooklyn? (pics)
The thing about small dogs that give them their reputations as being yappy and nippy and overall extremely ill-mannered is that they are so often treated like toys or dolls or little babies. And that is very unfortunate, I think.
When loved properly and trained properly (I think the two go hand-in-hand and you really can't have a healthy dose of one without the other) ANY breed of dog can be a beautiful and awesome pet.
