Big Borneo Short-Tail

Well, cleaning out the big guys today, and thought I'd snap a shot of the potential size of a Blood or Short-Tailed Python. This is a Male Borneo Short-Tail, he's 9 years old and just shy of 6 feet in length. He weighs in at 16+Kgs.

Thanks for the kind words guys, he's now currently locked with a Female! Looks like 2009 is going to be the year of the Bloods and Short-Tails here in the UK!

Thanks a lot man; awesome pic! I've been looking around for pics of full growns and haven't found much. I have 4 bps right now and my girlfreind was thinking of buying me a blood for my bday/christmas (they're close together). That is not an unmanageable size for me. The snake is a beaut! Anywho, thanks for a reference on how big they get! They're thick buggers, arent they.

Is that youre personal collection or where ya work? With how this hobby goes, it very well could be both! XD

hes not that big LOL, my big momma boa is bigger than he is :P hes a beautiful snakie :D

Thanks, temperament wise he's fine, just like a big big Ball Python! Most of my Bloods are like that, with a few I'm weary of but they're mainly all bluff!

Yes, I spoke to Peter about that particular Male last year, the Male is in fact now dead. Sad story, found one day dead in it's vivarium.

It had mated 2 Females and produced clutches, however, both clutches were completely infertile.

I definitely see two hot guys in that first picture, only one of which is the snake. I love his caramel-ish color. It's rare to see photos of the big ones; thanks for posting this. I want a blood so bad I can't even see straight sometimes. -lol-
