    Very Dark Normal
What to breed to a very dark (near black) normal?
I was thinking about the lemon, but it might darken down the yellow instead of amping up the yellow/black contrast. I've got the lemon, a pastel het hypo, a lesser and a mojo.
I'm already breeding a spider to the lemon and also a mojo female to the lesser.
    Any guidance?

IDK the lesser might be cool. There's nothing (in my book) like a nice melanistic lesser lol. But who knows maybe it would just help to heighten the contrast. You never know til you try :D.

I asked a similar question about my blackback female who is darker and I'm going to breeding her to my YB this season. Also black would go well with albino - more contrast.

I think black pastel, mojo, albino would be good too!! Stay away from lighter animals like pastels, lessers, fires and enchis... those high yellows would be muddied I think.

My goblins(RDR YB) are from a very dark female. They have gotten darker over the past month. I am updating pics Fri. and will post pics of mom and the goblins to give you an idea.

So, I'm confused. I thought that a black pastel was its own codom morph??? Are you saying that if I plop the pastel in with the female normal the result could be a dark pastel or even black pastel?? I have always loved the look of black pastels!!!

I think they're trying to feed your addiction and convince you to buy a black pastel. Black pastels are their own co-dom just like you had thought.

Lol!!! Well, they will not succeed!!!! I have way too many things to buy for the ranch!!!

Given that the males I have to choose from are: lesser, mojo, pastel het hypo, and lemon pastel, I will more than likely opt for the mojo to pair with the dark female normal... Thanks a million!!

Black pastels are a co-dom morphs, my suggestion is based on the fact that I would breed a dark morph to a dark female and a light morph to a light/high blush female. (my personal preference)

With dark females I would go with Black Pastel, Cinnies etc

With light females, high blushing I would go with Lesser, Pastel etc

I think it would turn out better if you went and bred it with a lighter coloured snake. Perhaps breed with a pastel and then attempt to breed with another pastel to get a super pastel crossed with the dark pattern. I think that could turn out awesome.
