Same. My buddy told me he wanted one, so I bought one for him. Though he didn't discuss it with his landlord so it landed back in my hands. So I've been stuck with him for a few weeks now. Wish I could keep him, but illegal here in Illinois. So I found a possible home for him in Wisconsin.

This guy downed a dozen medium sized crickets in like 10 minutes. I've always wanted one... some day.... some day....

some of those need to go into the herp of the month:gj: aww, how big do they get...maybe you shouldnt tell me? Their eyes are unreal

Males bigger than females. I think they can hit 13'+ being able to reach 1,000 pounds, females around 10'.

WELL we were thinking of getting one for our two acre pond to keep kids away, but decided against it.

Hey if your new home falls through let me know. I can get him a home with Bob and Dan from the Chicago Herp Society. Let me know he has many and can always place if needed.

Where do people that live in the midwest, or north of the gator's natural environment keep them? May be a stupid question, but just wondering.

I used to have a great Gator I names precious;) She was really cool but I only kept her till she got a little over 3feet:rolleyes: I found her a great home years ago but I still wonder about her sometimes... She was seriously dog tame and only ate fish/turtle pellets.

Oh, if only they stayed that size...SO freaking adorable. But crocodilians and hots are just a herping step I'll never take. *sigh*
