Re: umm..
The reason I asked about shedding, is that sometimes a couple scales will cause a whistling similiar to a wheeze.
If your snake is wheezing more than a couple times I would suggest going to a qualified herp vet to let him listen to the lungs to be sure.

Respiratory Infection.
If the wheezing worsens or it seems like a lot or mucous and/or bubbles form around the mouth get the snake to the herp vet ASAP.

Re: umm..
Does it only do it when it sees you? Like if you open the enclosure?

Re: umm..
i was just reading other articles and one said that she might be hissing at me when i handle her. shes never snapped or anything and i usually handle her for about 15mins to 30 mins a day. very docile snake and i cant tell if shes weezing or hissing.

Re: umm..
Shes hissing at you I would guess......I have a few here that still do that. Open the tub and HISSSSSSSSS then they are fine.
Really pay attention over the next day, see if you ever hear it any other time, and watch for bubbles at the nose and such.
When they hiss you can usually see them take in a big breath and puff up.

She's a scared and peeved when she hisses. To her you could be a predator. She doesn't know you mean no harm. Some BPs do it more than others, all depends on how nervous they feel when someone intrudes on their space. Usually it ceases when they become more acclimated and comfortable with you, but some can just be crabby all the time.
